Everyone in the room talked amongst themselves. Fred Weasley was laid on a bed in a room at St. Mungo's. He had not awoken, the nurses unsure of the cause. They waited for Cassie Malfoy to wake up and tell them what had happened in the tent on that night.
Arthur Weasley sat beside Bill, Percy, and Charlie. (Charlie had been in Romania for his work during the wedding. Upon hearing of the attack, he flew to London to see his brother). They mostly talked about politics and work — Muggles and dragons.
In another corner of the room, Molly Weasley sat in a chair, knitting a sweater. Ginny sat beside her, going between reading a book and taking part in her brothers' conversation.
The Weasley family did anything they could to take their minds off of Fred — the thoughts of him never waking up. So when it did go silent, all their eyes found their way back to Fred.
Only George could not take his eyes off of his twin. No matter how much Angelina tried to console him, he wouldn't move out of his seat. And everyone knew what he was thinking. He couldn't lose his brother again.
Meanwhile, others were sitting in Cassie's room. Harry and Ron sat together, in the back, waiting for Cassie to wake up. Not because they wanted her to be okay, but because they wanted answers to the most popular question: What happened?
Hermione and Fleur sat nearest to the window. Unlike the boys, they hoped she would be all right. Hermione tried thinking of all the answers to why she was still asleep. She thought her healing magic would have given her a faster recovery, but it did not.
Sitting at Cassie's bedside was Draco, his hand over hers. Like George, he could not take his eyes off her. He was afraid if he looked away, she'd be dead in a snap. He could not bear to live in a world without his sister; she was his greatest supporter, the one who stood by him in troubling times.
"Hey," called Arthur Weasley, his head popping out from the wall. "It's getting late. Let's head home." He looked at Cassie. "How is she?"
"Still breathing," Ginny answered as they filed out of the room.
"I feel terrible," said Fleur, walking into the arms of Bill. "They'll be heartbroken if one wakes up without the other."
"All will work out," Bill assured, following Mr. Weasley.
"I'll stay back," Harry said to Ginny, Hermione, and Ron. "If she wakes up, we can finally understand what happened."
"Tell us once you do," Hermione said. "If any of them wake up— "
Harry nodded saying," Of course." He looked to the door of Fred's room. "George still in there?"
"He won't leave," Ron explained. "He can't."
"I'll convince him to go home," Harry said. "He needs his rest, too."
As Ron left, Harry walked up to the door. He opened it up a crack, then stopped himself. Through the crack, he saw George crying in Angelina's embrace. She tried to calm him, giving him a kiss on his temple.
"I can't lose him, Angie," he sobbed.
"I'd suggest you leave, Potter." Harry turned around to see Draco standing behind him. "I know why you're here. When she wakes up, she shouldn't be bombarded with questions. You stay away from her. You lot have done enough."
"You must be forgetting that it is because of her, my family were at risk," said Harry, scowling.
"You must be forgetting that if it were not for that weasel in there, she'd have never been like this in the first place," Draco sneered. "She wouldn't have fallen in love with that oaf."
