Chapter 23

I'm sorry, I really am

Laying down on her soft bed, Haewon glanced towards her phone.

'Should I answer?' she thought. About twelve hours had passed since she left her boyfriend on read. The anger still residing in her, she let out a heavy sigh. She picked her phone up, putting in her password - the date she and Jungwon started dating. Opening the chat she looked at what he had sent her last.

JungWonnie
She just came by nothing serious babe.
I don't even pay attention to her.
You know I would never be around someone like her.

HaeWonnie
It's fine, just don't lie to me Won :((
I wouldn't be so mad if you just said she hangs with you.
I won't kill you, nor will I leave you.

I am sorry, I really am!

Getting up from her bed she looked at the time - 5 pm.
School had ended a long time ago, and Jihoon had thankfully agreed on taking Haewon's shift today. She had told him everything about Eunjung and Jungwon to which he listened carefully. He looked out for her, took great care of her as if she was his younger sister. At work right before she left he always asked her how was school, did Eun do something today, how are things with Jungwon, and small stuff that showed he cared a lot. At times when Haewon would have a sleepover with Yuna and Connie at Jihoon's place, she and the older male would talk for hours while Connie and Yuna did something together.

Brushing down her long hair, the girl got startled by the sound of her phone ringing - it was Connie."Sup Connie," she said upon answering."How are you doing Won," he asked, concern clear in his voice."You seemed upset and hardly talked to anyone today, so I wanted to see how are you" He chuckles lightly, somewhat embarrassed of his actions."I am doing fine don't worry, I will be going out with Won in a bit, to talk." Haewon says, sitting back down."Good luck, call me when you are done, I'm with Yuna at her place, so let us know asap!" Connie says while Yuna yells out a 'Hello' in the back."Is it a date?!" The girl asks slyly, wiggling her eyebrows even though no one could see her. "Yah don't say nonsense!" Connie, obviously embarrassed says before hanging up. A chuckle escapes her lips, Haewon knew pretty well of the growing feelings between Yuna and Connie, it's just the two of them that are oblivious.

Putting on light makeup, the girl sat down on her bed again, waiting for Jungwon to come. Taking her phone, she looked at her wallpaper-a photo of her and Jungwon, a small smile crept on her face, remembering the day they took it.
He had come over to her place to study, yet they ended up watching videos all night. Right before they headed to bed Haewon rested her head on his shoulder, she pouted while he looked at her -that's when she took the picture. His loving eyes looking at her beautiful face, captured in such a small yet important picture for her.

"Haewonnie" Doyoung slowly opened the door. "Jungwon is here, should I let him in?" He asked carefully not wanting to upset his sister, knowing she had been quietly sobbing last night because of the boy waiting outside ."Yeah, no worries bro, he's here to talk" she smiles exiting her room. "Tell him ill beat him up if he hurts you again" The younger boy yells out as Haewon goes down the big staircase. "Sure will!" she shouts back, a small giggle escaping her lips. "If not me Jihoon hyung will" Doyoung shouts out dead serious."I bet he will!" Haewon yells right as she opens the front door.

"So your brother and Jihoon want to beat me up?" Jungwon says, standing in front of the door with a bouquet of roses in his hands."Depends on what you do my father might join them" The girl giggles.

The two teens burst into laughter. "I missed you," Jungwon says shyly, handing the beautiful flowers. "You didn't have to Won," Haewon says, looking right into his eyes, all anger she had was already gone, she couldn't be mad at him. "I am sorry I lied "He apologized, obviously regretting every single time he talked with Eunjung. "It's okay, you did it because you didn't want to hurt me" She softly smiled, cupping his cheek."But I ended up hurting you more" He whispered, putting his hand over Haewon's feeling her warmth. "It's okay, you realized and you know what you did, that's enough for me," She says, softly kissing his lips.

"Where to now?" She asked, back to her cheery self a wide smile on her face.Sitting down on the same bench they shared their first kiss on, the two gazed upon the frozen lake. "Hawonnie, I didn't want to bring you into this but- " Jungwon hesitated to continue his sentence when Haewon answered already knowing he would ask. "Yeah, I know where they are," She said, eyes still fixed on the icy water. "Can we go to them?" The desperate leader sighs, leaning back on the bench, looking up he stared at the gray sky."Of course" Haewon responds, standing from the wooden bench, reaching her hand out for Jungwon. "Let's go, it's too cold anyway" She smiles sweetly, feeling how troubled the boy was. He grabbed her hand, squeezing it tight, a small smile finding its way on his face, replacing the frown.

"Hi Jay hyung," Jungwon says the moment the door to the apartment opened, he had wanted to see how he and Ni-ki had been doing the past one day. He was worried sick, but couldn't bring himself to call them - he was scared that they'd hate him."Hello" Jay simply greeted, stepping aside from the door to let the couple inside. "Hi, Jungwon Hyung" Ni-ki greeted, while playing on his laptop.

Haewon immediately sat beside the younger male, watching him play."Woah what the hell you are so good!!" she cheered as the boy killed two of the enemies. "Hah, that's nothing" He smiles proudly going for the third kill but suddenly the enemy outsmarts him, shutting him down."You could have dodged that Niki!!!!" Haewon whines looking at the grey screen. "Cut me some slack, I am not as good at League as you" He grins, getting ready as his respawn timer ticks back- only 3 seconds left.

While Niki played and Haewon cheered him on, Jay and Jungwon talked calmly, sitting on the barstools by the kitchen isle."I am sorry hyung I should have said something back there" Jungwon says, cursing himself for leaving his closest members alone. "It's okay, I understand you, I just don't understand Heesung" Jay mumbles, taking a sip of his cola."Neither do I any more" Jungwon agrees, looking down at the marble surface."You know we have to do something about this right?" Jay says, sadness still lingering in his voice. "I know and I might just have a plan" The boy smirks, thinking of the perfect way to show not only Heesung and the rest, but the whole company how horrible of a person Eunjung actually is.

The two boys continued to discuss the situation while the two younger ones listened, quietly talking amongst themselves. "Aren't you mad?" Niki asks a little hesitant to which Haewon of course says no. "Would I be here if I was? Plus Won told me what she told you. Don't let it get to ya, she is just a bitch" The girl smiles, bringing comfort to Niki who still replayed the harmful words into his head. "At first I was confused why you wanted to stay here with Jay, but now it makes more sense," she says with a frown, feeling bad for the younger boy.

"Guys" suddenly Jungwon called out, making both Niki and Haewon look towards him. "Jake is coming as well, he said Heesung and the others are unbearable" Jay explained, running a hand through his hair.

*30 minutes earlier*
Laying on his bed Jake stared at the white ceiling. He rarely got upset or negative in any way but right now he was angry. He and Sunghoon had gotten into an argument that went for a bit too long for his liking and of course it was about Eunjung. He cursed under his breath, wishing he had sided with Jay instead of staying silent. Even from the shared bedroom, he could hear the others talking. "Eunjung this-, Eunjung that-, your friends might be sleeping on a bench and all you think of is this bitch" he whispered to himself getting up from the bed. Putting on a thick jacket he went outside. He went to a nearby cafe hoping to see some familiar faces that usually went there - Jay and Jungwon. Yet the usual place they sat at was taken by strangers. He took a deep breath before calling Jay, wanting to apologize, wanting to see how he and Niki are doing.

"Jay hyung, I am so sorry," Jake said the moment he heard his friend answer.
