Always and ForeverThe interrogation of the now so-hated colleague of Mr.Kim had ended and he confessed everything without holding back.A trial - lasting a few months finally settled everything in favor of Kim's family, pushing their riches even further.
Jungwon and the rest of enhypen had gotten a lot more popular - so he and Haewon kept a lot more lowkey than what they wanted to, but it was for their good.William had been put into a facility for troubled children as his parents were put into prison, which let Haewon's anxiety finally die down. Her focus was now once more on the small shop she spent more of her time at, tending at the boring counter - while Jihoon often restocked the shelves or organized the back.Resting her head on her palms, Haewon lightly yawned - her eyelids feeling heavy as her head seems to fall.It was a rather boring day and it seemed that Jungwon had once more forgotten to pass by the store, even if it was conveniently close to his own workplace.
The small bell above the glass door rang, taking Haewon out of her dazed state. Shooting up, standing proper she hoped to see her boyfriend, though to her disappointment it was Mr.Choi.His usually gentle smile had been hidden away, his eyes fixed on the flooring."Good evening Mr.Choi" The girl greeted - trying her best to hide her own sadness." How's Mrs.Choi, seems she and little Marie, aren't tagging along today huh?"Her attempt at small talk only seemed to worsen the elderly man's mood as a slight sniffle was heard from his direction.
"Oh, yes..."He chuckled, his gaze never meeting Haewon's."My wife, she passed a few days ago..., I am not so good with kids nowadays so my son won't bring Marie as often"Suddenly the world seemed grayer, and the atmosphere thick. The young employee felt choked up, unable to say anything other than one small "sorry" That even she barely hared."It's okay, life is life, it all ends eventually - I just wish to be with her again" Mr.Choi explains, the last part of his sentence - barely a whisper."We promised when we were teens, we will always be together, always and forever" A saddened smile finding its way on his face as memories of their youth flood in.He soon left the small store, with nothing other than a chocolate bar.
It seemed like time slowed down, as grim thoughts engulfed the girl's mind. Even though the old radio behind her, placed on one of the messy shelves, had stopped long ago - its batteries finally dying out, she didn't bother to change them. The slight buzzing and the tingling sound of the white lamps didn't seem to drive her as crazy as usual, she was completely zoned out.Even when the small golden bell rang, Haewon never bothered to turn and greet the customer, she sat still in the same position - her head rested on her hand, as she gazed into nothing.
"Everything alright, my love?" His voice was smooth as honey and just with the tone of speaking, you'd know a giant smile was plastered upon his face.Haewon's eyes shot up, meeting the same dark ones, she was so desperate to see all day. A light smile crept on her face as she finally took him in. Messy hair, still in his training clothes - though his rings were present on his hands in which he held a beautiful bouquet of flowers, all in different colors, tied with a white ribbon.
"Having a bad day? Tell me what's wrong?" He questioned seeing his girlfriend still slumped on the stool, not moving to greet him like she usually does. She glanced away immediately, refusing to admit what troubled her so much, thinking he might find it silly."I'm okay, just been thinking about some stuff and I got a little sad"
Her voice was so gentle and quiet, he knew something was troubling her, something was hurting her precious heart.Placing the flowers on the countertop, the boy eager to take his girlfriend into his arms walked right passed the 'emplye only' sign taking no regard of it whatsoever, right behind the counter where she sulked.
"Tell me, please.."
She looked into his eyes and so the words started spewing on their own, she couldn't keep anything away from him, their bond was so dear and strong that every emotion came oozing down at his gentle touch and sweet voice. The story she spoke of was short, knowing the Chois and how kind they were. How often Mr. and Mrs. Choi would come by for sweets and drinks for little Marie. How happy and full of life they looked at 80 years old.
"It was barely a whisper but the way he said it, Won, it hurt" She sighed, running a hand through her hair."I wish to have what they've had" The girl continued."Then promise me, well always be together" Jungwon smiled, taking her hands into his."Always and forever"
Gazing into his eyes, she smiled - a tear of pure happiness trailing down her reddened cheeks. Softly cupping her face, they both leaned in, connecting into one blissful kiss.
The End.
