Chapter 7: Hello, Pet

- Y/N POV -

"What?" Even asked, while coming back into the kitchen. He leaned against the wall, with a questioning look. I sighed and leaned against the counter knowing that what I'm about to say is going to catch him off guard.

"Has-has anyone ever tried to come into the building... forcefully?"

"No, only the people living here can come in. Other than the employees," Even shook his head while answering. "Why?"

"I was just wondering," I answered, then sighed and pushed myself off of the counter and lead Even to the door. He stepped outside of my doorway and watched as I fiddled with my thumbs. "Well, thank you for answering my question,"

"Any time N/n," He said while smiling. "See you around,"

"Ya, see ya," Then I closed the door, made my way back over to the kitchen, and started to put the groceries away. I was almost done when I heard nails scraping on the walls, I spun around and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe Skittles was clawing at the door, waiting for someone to open it so she can come out and explore the rest of the building. I turned back around slowly when the lights turned off. Nope, not Skittles.

I called for Skittles and she came, of course, and jumped into my arms. I held her close to my body, she growled and whimpered both at the same time. Wanting to protect me like her instincts are telling her to do, but she is also scared for my and her safety. Skittles jumped out of my arms and walked around the apartment trying to find whoever might be in my apartment.

I felt a hot breath on the back of my neck, breathing in and out at a slow and steady pace. I wanted to turn around and confront the intruder, but I was too scared.

"Hello, pet," The voice said, the voice was attractive and sounded like honey, not only that but the person had an accent.
