Life After Champion

Day

   It's a bomb.

   They have a bomb.

   And they're planning on blowing up the sector.

   I quickly duck back and start sprinting around the building. I click my tongue and wait as the static fills my ears.

   “Day?" I hear Anden say. “How's it go-"

   “Anden listen to me. These men we were sent to look into, they're not inexperienced. Actually, they're far from it. They have...they have a bomb." I swallowed, petrified. “And June. They have June."

   I hear Anden let out a gasp and then the sounds of shouting orders. “We'll be right there. Just wait. Do not lose track of June. We can't have her in the hands of these men. They could..." his voice wandered off and he cleared his throat. “Just be careful. We're on our way." The connection clicked off as I made my way back to where we started.

   I stop dead in my tracks when I see them heading into a van, June's limp body carelessly tossed across one of their shoulders.

   “JUNE!" I scream. Wrong decision.

   Now alerted of my presence, they quickly shove their way into the vehicle.

   I frantically race towards them, but as I'm closing I'm on the final few feet, the engine roars to life and the van speeds off.
