My thoughts of her are constant. As long as she's still gone, I'll never stop thinking of her. The nightmares of her suffering somewhere cloud my mind. This is all my fault. And I have to find her before it's too late.
Anden and I have been scouring the sectors for the past day and a half without luck. No clues as to where they've taken June. No ideas as to what they're planning.
They seem to have disappeared out of thin air.
And with June.
We know the clock is ticking, we know we don't have much time left before something happens. As to what, we don't know.
But...What if it's already too late?
The thought chills me to the bone. No. It can't be too late. I'd never forgive myself.
I hear someone running up behind me and turn to see Eden. He looks nearly as frightened as me. I can tell he's been informed on what's happened due to the look of horror and sympathy in his eyes. He's grown close to June over the years, and he's probably scared too.
He embraces me tightly as he whispers in my ear. “Don't worry Day. She's brave and strong. She'll be ok. We'll find her. I promise."
I cry into his shoulder as he does the same into mine.
“Eden...I...this is all my fault. If only-"
“We can't worry about what could have been. We have to focus on the present. We're not making any progress just sitting here mourning. Let's do something. Come on, let's go find her."
He's right. June is brave and strong. For all I know, she could be escaping her prison right now. The idea gives me hope.
Wherever you are June, stay safe and be careful.
I'm coming.
