Chapter 8 Building Foundations

hay guys, sorry its been so long since I updated, I just wanted to wait till I got some comments, and I got a tone so thank you so much :D, this one will be dedicated to ALL my readers and commenters and this person who gave me an idea (nicolleteblond) for giving me an idea to put in the story.

It had been nearly a month since arriving at the institute, in that time I had regained the friendship I once had with Beth, Mia and Talia and Jace had been so... so, well there isn't a name for it, he has just been making me feel like I'm on top of the world, like I'm the most special person in his life, it made me feel content, comfortable, and best of all, happy. As im sitting in the library, Jace walks in and suggests we should go for a walk together, he's done this before where he's told me that I'm going to do something with him, and I find no reason to complain so I go along with it. We walk side by side and after a little while Jace reaches over and holds my hand, I jump, looking down at our intertwined hands, still confused, I look up at Jace to find him looking at me with a half smile I cant help but mirror. We carry on walking down the long hall way to the front doors when Alec steps in front of us from another hallway blocking us from moving forward, because I'm still holding Jace's hand he stops as well,

"Hay Alec, you okay?" Jace asks

"Hay Jace, yeah I'm fine, can I talk to (y/n) for a little bit?" he asks back

"Well, we were just about go a walk" Jace says

"It will only take a minute" Alec said smiling at Jace, Jace gave in and said he'd wait for me at the front door.

As soon as Jace was out of sight, Alec pushed me against the wall and had his hand against my throat making it difficult to breath, normally I'd tackle whatever was hurting me, but I was to shocked to move, or do anything for that matter,

"If you think I'll let you get away with being such a traitor, your very wrong, you might have fooled Jace, Isabelle and even Jocelyn, but you cant fool me (y/n), watch your back because I'll get you, I'll get you back for what your father did, because he's not here, someone's got to take the punishment now haven't they (y/n)" he said releasing his tight hold on me and stepping back a step, he looked at me for a second with disgust, then stalked away in the opposite direction. I couldn't move, I just stood there. I didn't know what was going on with him, first I thought he liked me but now, he seems to hate me because of my fathers and brothers atrocities. Eventually I snapped out of my trance and ran down the hallway to where Jace was waiting, he must have been waiting a while,

"Hey why did it take so long for you two to talk, it must have been important. want to share?" he asks with a smile

"it was nothing important don't worry, so where we going?" you ask trying to change the subject

"we're going to the park" he replies now he's grinning

"o...kay. why?" I ask, its not like I haven't been to the park together, you have, but the fact he's taking you just to go the park and being overly happy about it is the confusing part

"just felt like going I guess, do I have to have a reason to want to spend time with a beautiful girl?" as he said you blushed, but looked forward and carried on walking like nothing had happened, as you were nearing the park, so close you could see your three best friends waiting for you with a picnic on the grass

"I wanted to be apart of a great memory of you with your friends" he whispered in your ear as you sat on the blanket with him, opposite Beth and the twins, "so why don't we eat before training?" Jace asked everyone.
