"Shit!" I cried and took a step back. My left leg burning. "What is that? And how the fuck are you walking in it?"

"Oh, I'm not walking in it, it's just blocking the door. And the Grounds have been taken care of." He grinned mischievously.

That's it! I'm done with him. Mind reading time!

It's no use Riley. I've figured out a few things with all the attempts of you reading my mind.

I shook my head, totally annoyed. I knew I could do this regardless, I just had to find the loophole. I practiced it with Jesse.

So I did it again, only this time I looked him straight in the eye. He thought I was glaring at him, but honestly I wasn't. He wasn't guarding his thoughts, he was focused on my narrowed eyes. Waiting for my next move.

I can't believe she can't find out that this is just a hologram. All the Grounds are still right here, right now. They just can't do anything with them. What's her next move? There is no getting through this screen unless they remove it from my room.

I smirked. "Logan is searching your room right now, is there anything in it we should know about?"

I watched as his face went through a bunch of different expressions before settling on an emotionless one. "Of course not." He crossed his arms.

She better not figure it out. It's pretty simple really. Just a few things covering it. All she'd have to do was turn off the electric to my room and she'd be set.

"So," I glanced around, seeing Carson's feet planted about ten rungs above me. He must be pretty strong, if he's able to hold on that long. "It would be a shame if the power went off in your room while you were gone. All your hard work on those computers will be ruined."

"My computers don't matter anymore," Asshole said with a smug look on his face. All that matters is that Carson got the hint and was quietly moving up the ladder again so he could text Logan about turning off Avery's power. And that Asshole took the bait off my line, not paying any attention to the plan formulating in my head. "What matters is that all the Grounds are mine and they are going to help me get the others."

"Oh?" I inquired, pretending to be interested even though I couldn't give a flying fuck. Not a single one. "And how's that?"

"And why would I tell you what I was going to do? I'm not stupid enough to fall for that manipulative brain of yours." He crossed his arms defensively.

I almost laughed. Playing with his mind was too easy. I think he was too into avoiding one of my mind games to realize the other. Until now of course. His eyes widened as he realized how close I was to him. Then his eyes flickered to something behind me and they seemed like they were about to come out of his head.

"I'm not stupid enough to fall for that manipulative brain of yours," I mocked.

"When will you learn you can't beat us? I mean we make a good team." Carson said as he walked up behind me.

"Wh- bu- how?" Asshole stumbled back and I shot forward to stop him from running into one of the stands.

"It's called teamwork. You should try it sometime." I shrugged like it was the easiest thing in the world.

Seeing as everything was in order, Carson stepped forward, grabbed Asshole and then turned to leave. "You coming baby?"

"Nah, I'm gonna set up the security and I'll meet you up there," I told him, already in the process of resetting everything I only had to put up the lasers again, but they didn't know that.
