Conner stood in the middle of the two headstones. One looked more rundown while the other looked brand new.

One read Alexander's name while the other read Amaryllis. Tears were heard from all over. Conner tried staying strong for his weeping wife.

"Alexander was a good man. But, he was never truly the same after Amaryllis died. It changes him completely." His lips quivered. He couldn't continue but composed himself enough to do so.

"I guess he must've thought that we forgot about Amaryllis' death anniversary if we can even call it that. It's no celebration. But, we didn't forget. We could never forget." he looked over at Marcy who was now sitting next to Amaryllis' headstone crying.

"Marcy's made a promise to Amaryllis many years ago that if she was to die, to make her wedding on the day of her passing so she could feel included." Now thinking about it Marcy laughed at the memory.

"Alexander accomplished what he wanted since her passing. To be with her. Forever." Conner could no longer handle the emotions coursing through him at that moment. He burst into tears.

Marcy stood up and spoke.

"I might not have known Alexander for as long as Conner did but he was truly a good friend. He was most possibly the last thing I had that Amaryllis loved." Amaryllis' parents moved away shortly after her passing wanting to forget everything and start a new life.

"They loved each other in a way I couldn't describe and now, they are reunited in their perfect wonderland." It was a sad day for all. A day wanting to be forgotten.

Marcy and Conner had gotten married a few days before today. When they reached home and placed a framed picture of Alexander next to a framed picture of Amaryllis they had hung up in their living room with a table under them that held a few candles and a vase with flowers. Amaryllis flowers.

They pulled some seats as they lit the candles and sat them next to each other and the pictures. This was their way of coping.

"I have some news." She turned towards Conner with a smile and puffy red eyes from all the crying she's done today.

She took a pregnancy test out of her pocket.

Conner's eyes widened.

"Seriously?!" She nodded. They stood up and hugged each other with a strong embrace as the mourning tears were replaced by happy ones.

"They would've loved to be this child's godparents," Conner said.

She nodded. That's all she could do. A sad day turned into a happy day.

They looked at the photos of their friends smiling. Next to one candle leaned the picture of Amaryllis and Alexander that they took at the carnival that night.

Conner took an extra replica that Alexander had with him the day he jumped. He placed the picture next to Amaryllis' copy and simply smiled.

As much as they missed their best friends, they knew they were in a better place together.

I was highkey depressed after writing this story so I had to make a happy ending for dear Marcy and Conner. ;-;;
