"Finally!" She grabbed my arm and pulled me upstairs to her room.

I laughed as I sat on the edge of the bed.

"So I met Connor today?" Her head snapped towards me and I saw a sparkle in her eyes that I've never seen before.

"And?" I could tell how impatient she was. I just laughed.

"He's handsome huh?" I laughed even more. Don't get me wrong. He's good looking but Alexander is the only guy in my eyes.

"I guess. Oh, by the way, he gave me this and said to give it to you. He also said, and I quote, 'Her knight in shining armor has arrived.' " I smiled and winked as I took the little piece of paper out of my pocket.

She opened the piece of paper and blushed profusely as her smile grew.

"Are you gonna call him?" She looked over at the phone and then back at me.

"Should I?" I nodded rapidly.

"YES!" She laughed and reached for the phone on her desk and dialed the number from the paper.

He answered after the second ring.

I ended up leaving a few minutes later so she could talk to him in peace.

As I walked home I looked down at my watch. My eyes widened.

My date with Alexander was just a mere hour away.

I walked as fast as I could towards my house hoping I would get there in time to get ready.

Of course, I wouldn't spend too much time getting ready since I already had my outfit on. All I needed was to apply makeup and that was it.

I reached my house in no time seeing as Marcy's house wasn't too far from mine. I entered and there on the couch were my parents. They sat on opposite ends of the couch yet I could feel an emotion between them I haven't felt in a while.

I shook my head and just kept going upstairs until I reached my room. I looked down at my watch. I had thirty minutes left and I still had to take the bus to the carnival.

I hurriedly applied little makeup and made my way downstairs. I looked again at the couch and noticed that they scooted closer together. I didn't want to question it just in case. I didn't want to ruin anything that could make our family life better.

As I ran towards the bus station I could feel my heart beating rapidly. I started getting scared and took deep breaths as I slowed down my pace.

Thankfully, I still made it in time. I got on the bus and sat in the back. I fiddled with my fingers as we got closer to the carnival. The bus started getting filled as families and teenagers started getting on. I'm guessing they were heading towards the carnival also.

The bus stopped soon enough and many of us got off. Right before I could an old lady that sat in the front took a hold of my wrist. I looked at her and smiled. There was a look of worry on her face making my smile drop.

"What is it, ma'am?" I asked her nicely. "Be careful." That was all she said before she let go. I hesitated to get off but did anyway.

Just as I stepped off the bus I could see Alexander standing in the distance waiting. A smile came across my face yet I couldn't forget what the old lady told me. It was so vague yet it sent chills down my spine.

I walked towards Alexander, it took him a while to finally recognize me but as soon as he did a smile grew on his face. I blushed as he took hold of my hands once I got close enough. "It took you long enough." He said in a joking manner, making me let out a small laugh.

He let go of one of my hands but interlocked my other hand with his. I kept my head down so he wouldn't notice me blushing.

We walked around for a while just playing games and eating. I held in my hand a picture of us that we took in the photo booth a while ago. Alexander had an identical one.

"Why don't we get on a ride?" I gulped.

"I don't think that's a good idea for me. You can get on but I'll stay down here and wait for you if you want." He looked at me with confusion.

"Why isn't it a good idea for you to get on?" My eyes widened as I tried looking for an excuse.

"Because I just ate," I said holding my stomach and letting out a sigh. His confusion left and he just nodded.

He got on the ride after waving at me, which made me laugh at how cute he was. I looked down at my watch and saw that we've been here for an hour already. Wow, that was all I could think.

I've been having such a fun time with Alexander that I completely lost track of time. I didn't even notice the ride ended until I felt arms wrap around my waist and Alexander's head on my shoulder. I smiled as I placed my hands on his and leaned lightly on him.

"Did you have fun?" He nodded as he kept his eyes closed. I laughed lightly. He finally let go after a while and turned me to face him. He kept his hands on my waist and smiled.

He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. He looked into my eyes with such raw emotion. I looked down at his lips as he did the same.

He started leaning closer and my heart started to race. His lips got closer and soon they were brushing against mine. Once his lips hit mine my heart went out of control and sparks started flying.

My chest was starting to ache. I pushed him away and fell to the ground trying to catch my breath as my heart started beating too quickly. Soon I started to see dots and the next thing I know all I saw was dark.

Alexander

I rushed into the ambulance as they took her body on the stretcher. "Sir, we can't let you on here if you have no relation to the patient."

"What do you mean?! I'm her boyfriend!" The man said nothing and let me into the ambulance.

I held her hand tightly in mine as tears spilled out of my eyes. "What happened?" I ask the man.

"Has she ever told you about any condition she has?" I shook my head. She looked so healthy.

"It's better if the doctor explains it to you. For now, just keep calm. Everything will be okay." He said as the tears kept flowing and the grip on her hand tightened.

Every time I saw her she was smiling. Never in a million years would I have thought that she had something wrong.

We finally reached the hospital. They rushed her into a private room that I wasn't allowed into. A doctor followed by many nurses rushed into the room.

I started getting worried as my leg shook and my head lay in my hands.

I heard footsteps rushing in and a woman's voice.

"Where's my daughter!? Her name's Amaryllis Cantonera!" I walked up to her and her husband.

I tapped on their shoulders and they turned towards me.

"Hi, I'm Amaryllis' friend Alexander."

"Were you there when it happened?" tears started to form in my eyes as I recalled the event.

I nodded. "I might be the cause of it," I say lowly. I could hear the sigh as Amaryllis' mother fell into the arms of her husband out of despair.

More footsteps were heard coming towards us. I turned my head to find Marcy and Connor rushing towards us.

They were out of breath by the time they reached us.

"What happened?" Marcy spoke with concern clear in her voice.

"Her heart acted up again." Amaryllis' mom responded.

No one spoke. Everyone took a seat and waited impatiently for the doctor to arrive.

He walked out shortly. We all stood up fidgeting with something waiting for him to speak.

"She should be fine. Her heart accelerated too quickly and her body couldn't take it." I was still confused. I didn't know what was happening.

"C-can you explain to me what she has?" I was scared, to say the least.
