The next week went by in a blur, the alpha leaving me alone, what was I doing wrong? They had been training non-stop sparring with each other getting prepared for the full moon. I didn't have much hope with him claiming me his, he wasn't showing any interest when I was around him, he wouldn't look at me during meal times. Truth be told, the alpha female paid me more attention, but it was frowned upon for a girl to claim a girl. Honestly I would take her claim if that meant I wouldn't be killed by the beasts in the hunt. I didn't want to be left. It scared me the thought of running in the dark woods with wolves around me. It would scare anyone. Right now we had been demanded to be in the dining hall. It wasn't even meal time. All the girls looked excited. I found that they knew more than me and I was normally left in the dark.
I followed behind Kate who still hated me, she would make comments tease me that I would be left without a claim. She would tell me all about her wild times with the alpha knowing I had feelings for him. Each time I would try not to give her the time of day I knew if I bite back she would win. I walked into the hall, the Alpha, Alpha female, Beta and Gamma all standing in a line. You could feel the dominance and power in the room. I was tense. What was happening? We were all in a line directly in front of them. Nobody dared to speak a word.
"As you will be aware the full moon is nearly upon us. We need to start getting prepared, it falls upon you girls to have everything ready. As you know we have 1 girl with us who is not claimed on the night of the full moon. Men can come forward if they want to claim her. Our wolves will be at their strongest coming to the surface, you have been warned girls make the wrong move any wolf can try to kill you!" Alpha Luna explained. "Melony, I leave you to get everything done, make sure your girls are ready and prepared for the full moon." Luna said looking at Melony she nodded her head yes. Nobody else said anything, they were all standing there even the alpha didn't say anything he just stuck close to Alpha Luna and the jealousy started.
Alpha Luna looked at me "I wish you goodluck Esme." She said looking at me smiling before leaving the room with the rest of them. Without having much time to think about it, Melody stepped in front of us with her face stern.
"Ladies, we have 1 week to prepare everything, so if someone chooses Esme we have to make sure she is ready." she said, looking at me. Before she could carry on I heard Kate snicker.
"Like she is going to get chosen, not even the Alpha is interested." She said and laughed.
"That's enough Kate. We will do our best to get her prepared regardless if she gets marked or not." Melody said, leaving Kate to pull an annoyed face. I smiled knowing that it annoyed her. "Don't disappoint me girls." She said looking at all of us. I had always wondered how she ended up top dog. I can remember my first night.
"This one doesn't have much fight .. " the beast said that was carrying me. "Remember the last one." He said and I could feel his smirk. "Oh how defiant that melody was" He said like he was pleased.
The other chuckled "Lasted a day, before she was handed to every lycan around for a good time." My eyes popped out of my skull, my body going tense.
"What a tight sweet little pet she was" The one holding me said and then placed his hand over my arse "Not as sweet as this good girl." My fear was building.
I thought back to the words 'she had been handed to every lycan for a good time' and I looked up at her. She was the girl they were talking about. How did I not notice, she was claimed by the gammer James. The thought hadn't even passed my mind but I still didn't know how she was in charge. "Get back to work we start tomorrow." Melody said before walking away. I sighed mentally preparing myself for today.
"What's wrong little Esme scared you won't get chosen." Kate said coming towards me.
"Give it a rest Kate." Rebecca said, sounding tired. Some of the girls walked out unbothered by what Kate had said, there were 8 of us and I still hadn't talked to them all. Some of them seemed like shells of lost people just doing their job and going to sleep.
"Oh come on Rebecca. We all know she won't be the alpha's not interested in his precious little gift. Especially when he's calling me to satisfy his needs all the time, she mustn't be that good." Kate laughed and I got confused. He had been calling her to release him but I didn't understand. Did he not like me? Sometimes we had our moments of passion and sometimes he ignored me. "What's wrong cat got your tongue?" she said laughing in my face. My anger was boiling and I looked at her square in the face. I had had enough of her childish behaviour and I was kind of hurt by her comment.
"Yeah well. At least I'm not a slut and won't open my legs to any wolf that asks when I know I've been claimed by one." I said and she looked annoyed at my comment. She stamped her foot and walked away storming out the hall. 1 to Esme 0 to Kate I cheered in my head.
"I wouldn't listen to her, someone will claim you. Pleasing an alpha is the hardest of them all." Rebecca said before walking past me out the room. Nobody seemed to believe I could please the alpha, did nobody see me. This made me more determined to please him one way or another I would win because I never lose.
