[M A S O N ]
Track training had finished and Mason stood to the side of the field with a wattle bottle in hand and gulping down mouthfuls of water, his breath heavy and body strong. He loved the feeling of running, felt so calm after the moments before when he'd been pushing his body to its limits. He was lean and muscular, could feel his body vibrating with every movement.
"Mason" Mason turned, coming face to face with his coach. Miss Carter, or Liz, as we liked to call her was an elegant women in her fifties, black hair arranged around her face to give an impression of softness that her severe expression counteracts. Her red collared shirt is striking against her dark skin, "you seemed distracted today, Jarrad finished with a better time and that's a far feat for him on any given day" she pushed her pen behind her ear and looked to him with a cocked brow. It was in her own meticulous way of asking if he was doing okay?
Mason lowered his water bottle from his lips, using his hand to wipe away the droplets that had rolled down his chin "My head was somewhere else, I'll be on my game next time, coach" he smiled to his coach, receiving a not so confident nod in return.
"Good" she replied, "get it sorted, we have tryouts next month, I can't have you being preoccupied" she turned from him to head toward Jarrad, who was gleaming at his amazing feat of beating Mason. Mason didn't really care and grabbed his gym bag, slinging it over his shoulder. He wanted to go home, but knowing Kye was there he stands still from a long moment left in thought. The same thoughts that had distracted him the entire of training.

Kye stared at himself, at the sack of skin and bones he's become. Leaning forward with his hands on the edge of the sink, his entire weight on the palms of his hands as he pulled at his lower eyelid. Red and blood shot. Sighing he drags his fingers down his face, pulling the skin of his cheeks feeling as if he could pull the mask of his features from his skull. He hadn't left his room all night, knew exactly when Mason had left for training, it was like he did every other day. It was only then he left his room to wander the apartment.
Leaning away, repulsed by himself he had to pull his clothes from his body to hunker into the shower. Turning the faucets til steam filled the small dorm room bathroom. Leaning his forehead against the cold of the tiles as the warm water washed over his body, warming him down to his bones. The water was scolding, his pale skin changing to a shade of red beneath the stream of water that spurts and splutters from the shower head. Being anything close to luxury. The overhead light flickered, the bathroom not having enough air circulating to allow the steam to escape the small space
Reaching past the curtain, Kyes fingers found the neck of a cheap bottle of Merlot, red wine, disgusting and he cringed every time at the taste yet he brought the entire bottle back into the shower and sipped from the mouth piece.
A small knock on the bathroom caused Kye to splutter the liquid that was in his mouth, using the back of his hand to wipe his chin. Looking my down, his chest was covered in wine. Running down his legs and feet. It resembled something of a murder scene, the red liquid rolling down the cream tiles, reminding him of blood, mixing with the running stream of water at his feet.
He recognised the small knock, but didn't move to turn off the water. Gripping the bottle tightly to his chest, he sunk down to the floor as if that would do anything to hide himself from Mason if he actually were to enter .
"Kye~" his human voice was muffled beyond the door, the stream of water continuing to run over his shrivelled up body at the bottom of the shower. Staying crouched, he closed his eyes pressing the bottle of Merlot to his cheek. Water was getting into the bottle but he didn't care, eyes closed still he cringed imagining the state he would look from another's perspective. He looked to the ceiling, if there were a god, he'd likely be embarrassed at the sight of Kye. Kye wasn't anything close to being religious, but he knew he was a waste of a creation.
