Sorry, this chapter took longer than normal. Work has been busier than normal, and I also rewrote and reformatted several sections of this chapter more than once. I ended up with a completely different chapter than I originally intended. Not sure how quick the next update will be but hopefully not as long a break as this one was.

C: Hey Rory, What's your caffeine levels at?

R: Why?

C: No reason, are you having a good day?

R: Cut the bullshit Colin, what do you want? I know you want a favour.

C: I'm being forced into going to a gala on Saturday night, and well, remember I told my father I had a girlfriend, so he is kind of expecting her to show up as my date.

R: So you need to find a date for Saturday, do you need help finding a girl?

C: Well I was hoping I had already found a girl, it's just that she might need some convincing.

R: So you need me to lie and tell some poor girl that society gala's aren't awful?

C: Well..

R: Yes Colin?

C: I was hoping that I could persuade you to be my date. I did already tell them my girlfriend was called Leigh, and I will owe you big time.

R: How big?

C: Like buy all your coffee for the rest of the year, big.

R: Hang on which gala?

C: I was hoping you would agree before you asked that.

R: Which gala?

C: The D.A.R one on Saturday night.

R: Colin!

C: Please? I will even buy all your alcohol for the rest of the year as well.

R: I will think about it. Give me an hour.

Flicking the page of her book Rory's cell rang, picking it up without checking the caller Id she answered.

"Hello"

"Hey Rory."

"I'm sorry, who is this? I don't recognise the voice or the number?" Rory asked, having pulled back slightly from her cell to check the number.

"I'm sorry. It's Logan. From last week at your grandparents."

"Okay, and not to sound rude but how did you get this number Logan?"

"My mother got it from Emily, she passed it on and said you had wanted me to have it."

"She what?"

"And I'm guessing from your reaction that isn't what happened?"

"No. Emily has been warned multiple times about giving out my information."

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault. What were you calling me for?"

"I was actually calling to see if you had any plans for Saturday night? Or if you would allow me the honor of escorting you to the DAR gala."

"You say that like you assume I was already going?"

"You're right. I did assume, what with Emily's position in the DAR and all."

"I actually already have an escort. I'm going with my boyfriend."

"You have a boyfriend? Do Emily and Richard know?"

"No they don't know. Telling them about my love life only ever goes one of two ways: they either decide he isn't good enough and try and break it up, or they have us married off. So I tend to avoid telling them anything about it."
