Twenty-seven

The trip to Neverland really seem to do Sebastian some good. Meeting the people here was quite exhilarating. Learning of their traditions which he found bizzar and even fascinating. There was a lot to be done in Neverland, unlike in Larmont where he had already found it well developed, with just a minor hicupps to fix there and there. Neverland was like a baby, ready to be raised from scratch and Sebastian loved it. And it was the first time getting to hear Augustus' full vision, as he could also picture it in his head.

Thomas was more quiet but very smart. You can tell that just from the five words he speaks daily. And after hearing his father giving him the go ahead to improve the place, the man had already pictured where he was to build a huge school for the locals, a clinic, and a proper shelter for the orphans. It was a lot of work for him to do, together with implementating the greenhouse Augustus has always wanted for the locals, it were to take him years but it wasn't impossible. They were also to introduce more carriages for the locals, which prince Thomas planned to provide sooner than anyone had thought. Also the locals only had two boreholes. The kingdom may be small but not that small.

To everyones surprise, Hazel had walked into their discussion three days later with her own request. She had asked for women to be taught fighting skills and be allowed to be warriors. The princess may have thought she was being subtle but everyone saw that she ditched her romantic novels for these huge biology books which she picks up from the local library. Speaking of the library, the plan was to improve the place and update the books. A lot was to be done indeed.

Sebastian had the pleasure of meeting Augustus' two bestfriends. Katharine and Peter. The auburn hair lady was one sly human, who was the only woman in Neverland who knew how to use bow arrows. Augustus has revealed that Katherine was probably better than him with the weapon. But his defense was that Katherine wasn't allowed to hold such weapons in public due to the sexism that has been in Neverland for centuries, so whenever they went hunting she was given the opportunity to hunt while the boys sat around a bonfire. Sebastian didn't know how to feel about that, his husband took advantage of the girl to hunt for them. They obviously laughed about that.

Peter on the other hand was just a geek who spoke a language only he could understand. The young man was fascinated by nature, always looking for indigenous plants. As if he would ever find any in Neverland. The place was one cold, icy place. Plants wouldn't grow in such a landscape. He was also too smart that he used words such as affluent instead of saying rich. Sebastian didn't understand why he had to make English so complicated. But Augustus always flicks the man on the forehead and insist that he should speak English! Sebastian would just laugh at his hopeless husband, who abused both of his bestfriends all in the name of tough love.

And the fact that his friends didn't treat them unruly when they opened up about their marriage made Sebastian like them more. But they were angry that they didn't invite them to the wedding. Augustus quickly ended the conversation by reminding them that they were poor to travel. Sebastian had gasped at the blunt use of the word poor, but the two friends just nodded and hummed, before bursting into laughter. They were strange but judging from his husband and him liking Mannie, he should've known.

Augustus had been having his own worries of course. Now that King Carson had passed on, that meant Sebastian was to be announced as the new king. He wasn't raised to be prepared to lead a nation. He was the second prince, and never once in his life has he ever thought one day he'd meet the next successor of the Larmont throne and marry the man. He wasn't ready. King Carson had died before he was readied.

"I know your worried Augustus, but you'll do just fine. We're all new to this two kings on a throne but we'll figure it out together. I'll assist where I can," Queen Elizabeth assured him.
