"Excuse me, may I sit here?
A soft, unknown voice asks in a very low and small tone that was almost inaudible. Jake quickly shifts his head to his left to look at the owner of the voice. A tall and slim young boy with a head full of beautiful black hair. His eyes were big and dark yet sparkly; making them look like shining stars in the night sky. Something in his eyes told that he was a shy bean. Jake was completely lost in admiring this boy's beauty. So much so that he couldn't respond. Embarrassed, the shy boy looked away; as his ears and face started to become bright red. Realizing what he's doing, Jake snaps back into reality and quickly responds with a smile; trying to hide his flustered state but little did he know that his ears were also as red as tomatoes...?
"Sure! Please do!"
The young college student picks up his backpack from the seat next to him and places it on his lap to give space for the stranger to sit.
"Thank you."
"No problem. I'm Jake Sim, by the way."
The young man reaches out for handshake. The stranger smiles and does the same.
"Park Sunghoon."
"So, where are you going?"
"The skating rink nearby. You?"
"Oh, I'm going to Yonsei University! I'm majoring in Physics."
"That's great!"
The small talk ends. More specifically, Jake ends it as he was realizing that the stranger named Sunghoon wasn't very comfortable with speaking to a stranger like him. And he understood why. Sunghoon was probably an introvert. A bit quiet and reserved. So, he decided to give him his space. Although Jake understood what actually was going on with Sunghoon being kind of awkward with the conversation, Sunghoon was overthinking it. He couldn't stop thinking whether his awkwardness made this beautiful conversation stop or was he too unresponsive? He couldn't figure out whether he should be starting the conversation again or not. Is Jake even willing to talk?
"The stoppage for the skating rink has arrived. Passengers, please get ready to get off from the bus!"
The bus driver announces and just like that, without any proper goodbye, Sunghoon gets off from the bus without being able to start the conversation again with the boy he didn't really mind talking to. Deep inside, he was regretting it a lot. As Sunghoon got off, Jake just watched him; wanting to say something but not knowing what. The boy looked handsome. Almost like an idol... He sighed and plopped back on the bus seat; thinking how short his journey with this stranger was... Almost like his life...
But little did they know that the thing called destiny worked in mysterious ways...
