One very weird dream

Regina's POV

It was a treacherous and blistering night outside. The trees were swishing in the cold, howling wind. Continuous, loud droplets of rain could be heard on my roof. At any random time, thunder and lightning could be seen and heard, through the gaps of the shut windows in my house. It was just as I remember it...the very first night I met Henry's mother.

It was after she had departed from her stay here did the storm finally decide to pick up. Storybrooke has had many storms...but none as strong as that night had been.

Henry was surely in bed by now; it was already almost 12pm. But knowing my son...I decide to check on him regardless. His sleeping face is a mask of peace and serenity, as he hugs the pillow in his tight clutch.

Smiling to myself, I head back downstairs to switch off the lights. But just as I am about to do this, a soft knock on the door resounds around the walls.

Wondering who it could be at this time, I open the door with a look of annoyance on my face. I'm not afraid of people. They are afraid of me.

However...to my surprise... it's Emma standing in front of my home.

She's soaked to the bone and is hugging herself tightly to seal any warmth she has left around her body. Her golden hair is drenched also, giving it a rather dark appearance. Along with all of this her emerald eyes are looking at me expectantly, telling me she wants to come in.

I simply wordlessly open the door and step to the side for her to enter. She nodds as thanks and pulls off her muddy boots so as not to anger me in any way. I appreciate this and bring her in to our living room, where I start up a fire so as to emanate heat to dry Emma off.

She smiles at me and all is silent for a while until she says, " So, uh...thanks for letting me in at this time. I know I should have left town by now, but Henry left his b-...something in my bug. Thought I'd return it to him before I left him to you."

Wait...did she say she's leaving town?

"Well I'm glad you returned it to him. But, may I just ask...why are you leaving town?"
This statement is more of just my curiosity getting the better of me.

Emma looks at me funny, as if I've just suddenly grown 6 heads. "You said it yourself, madame mayor. Just because I've met him for the first time ever...doesn't mean I can stay. He's your son, and I should leave you two alone."

So this IS the past. And this is after Emma prepared to leave but knocked over the town sign!! But wait...this never happened the first time..?

My thoughts are brought to an abrupt stop when I hear Emma exclaim something to me. "Im sorry, what, dear?"

"Oh ah...you - you have a piano. I love the piano so much but my foster parents wouldn't let me play it ever. I just...do you know how to play? " she nervously asked as she fumbled with her fingers.

Wait...I have a piano?!! Since when?!!

I turn my head to the direction in which Emma is facing, and sure enough, there in the corner of the room, is a grand piano. And not just any...it looks brand new and from a very well known company.

Emma coughs, signaling me to answer her question.

"Um...well...no. I don't play the piano." And for some crazy reason, I continue with, "Would you like to play with me, Ms. Swan?"

Her eyes light up and she smiles widely. We take our seats side by side and begin to play. Emma doesn't do much; a few notes is all she plays before she looks at me, waiting to hear me play a song or something...

Shakily, I place both hands on the keyboard. As I begin to play, I realise I am actually playing something real. And I'm really skilled at it to! Since when...I don't know. However Emma is looking at me like I am a goddess she holds dearly to her heart. It warms me to know she is enjoying my company.

But this never happened in real life...so it's all fake. Turning back to the music, I realise its changed to a sad kind of tune...

Emma is still listening, and when I end the tune, she turns to me and is about to say something when a huge clock noise shakes the earth. It sounds a lot like the Storybrooke town clock; signifying the midnight chimes. It is just after this noise that I am ripped from my landscape.

My eyes open to soft fabric. The world is suddenly full of light, and I realise it was all just a dream. One very weird dream.
