Freedom was within my grasp. All I had to do was jump to the ground and make my break to the fence and on from there.

My hands stung from rubbing against the fabric of the makeshift rope. My entire body was shaking out of the fear of what would happen if I was caught.

My heart was pounding in my chest as I jumped to the ground. I had mistimed my jump and landed short crashing into a lantern post. The post fell over and the lantern crashed shattering to pieces.

What I didn't know was that Dream had been sitting outside my room the entire time and the crash had just woken him up.

He sprinted to the railing and yelled out my name,

"ALETHEA? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

Oh fuck.

I stood up from the garden floor and bolted. Unfortunately, Dream was a trained killer and could easily beat me in speed and strength.

My fight or flight sense had kicked in and I was running for my life. I could hear him not far behind me yelling cuss words and threats.

Miraculously I made it to the fence and started scrambling up frantically. I got up about 7 feet before a hand wrapped around my ankle yanking me downward. I screamed and held onto the metal for dear life.

Another hand grabbed my other ankle and pulled me with enough force to yank my leg off. I fell and crashed onto the grass. Falling such a distance stunned me and Dream used this to his advantage by jumping on my back and pulling my arms behind me. With his free hand, he shoved my face into the ground.

I struggled as hard as I could but he just pulled my arms tighter and tighter. It got to the point where he was going to dislocate my arm. I went limp and screamed.

"DREAM, Dream, you're hurting me-"

He put his entire weight on my arms.

"DREAM YOU'RE HURTING ME." I felt my arm pop as a warning that it couldn't take any more stress.

"GOOD, Just like you hurt me. You didn't follow my rules and I treated you like ROYALTY. I gave you my UNCONDITIONAL LOVE." He yelled crazily.

"You're going to BREAK MY ARM!" I tried to reason some sense into him. This just angered him further.

he brought his face down to mine and looked me in my eyes.

"I will break every bone in your body before I let you leave this place."

This man was deranged and out of control. I was scared.

"DREAM?!" A voice called out.

I looked up to see Sapnap, George, and a few guards running towards us. Dream saw them too. This seemed to calm him down.

He grabbed both of my arms and pulled me up roughly and shoved me towards the guards.

"Lock her in the private dungeon." He spat angrily.

The guards pulled my hands behind me and tied them together. I was too weak to protest.

"Dream, are you sure?" George asked. He looked at me with pity in his eyes. I wished he'd stop doing that.

"Anyone who disobeys my orders must be punished. I let her off the hook one-too-many times." He replied.

Even as I was hauled away by the guards I could hear the trio arguing over my fate.
