Trigger Warning: Blood, mild panic attacks
I had been walking for about 5 minutes before the cold weather started to make my toes numb. It had now been about an hour and I could no longer feel my legs. To make matters worse the sun was starting to set.
The coat Tubbo gave me helped a lot but my lack of coverage on my legs was going to be a big problem shortly.
As if things couldn't get worse I heard voices in the distance. I weight my options and ran into the forest to hide behind a tree. I quickly realized my footprints showed exactly where I was hiding. I decided my only option was to climb the tree and jump to another since spruce trees grew very close together. I also smoothed over the snow so it looked like a dead end.
"Remember, we are to shoot any men we see. If you find the girl bring her back alive. His Highness has ordered this." A man shouted from not too far away.
"I found shoe prints!" A soldier yelled.
"Follow them!" Said another.
"It stops right here."
"Search the area!" The man in charge yelled.
I waited until I couldn't hear any voices to try to climb down.
From where I sat I knew I would have to be careful in climbing down. I could easily break bones from this height.
I was able to get down halfway before I unknowingly stepped on a piece of ice that had frozen over the branch.
I immediately slipped and crashed at the bottom.
When I went to try and stand two things became apparent. One, my right ankle ached whenever I stepped on it and two I had a pretty bad cut on the back of my leg from it scraping against the bark.
Soon it would be pitch black outside and I had no clue where I was. I didn't know if the guards would come back either.
I started to panic. My chest tightened and my breath became short. I was lost, scared, in the most feared forest in the world.
My entire body hurt and my legs were turning purple. I was going to die whether it was from hypothermia, monsters, or my own terrible decisions.
So I did the only thing I could think of. I started running. I ran and ran for at least a mile before my ankle gave out and I was left sitting in the snow again. Thank God my ankle was numb because I don't think I would be able to bear the pain of whatever was wrong with it.
I decided to catch my breath before trying to keep moving. Then I realized something. I heard nothing. No birds, no bugs, nothing. Just the wind brushing against trees. It was like everything was as afraid as I was.
Then from not far behind me, a stick cracked. I whipped my head around but nothing was there. When I looked back forward A tall, dark figure loomed over me.
A man with the palest skin I'd ever seen was wearing a red cloak over netherite armor. He had long straight pink hair and bright red eyes.
"Hello, little mouse." A monotone voice spoke.
