Three years have passed.

In the same wedding car, they rush to the hospital.

Marie was breathing rapidly. She was carried out of the car by a couple of nurses. Rod parked the car, and followed after.

"Congratulations Mr. And Mrs. Bailyn! You have a beautiful daughter." Said the nurse as she gave the baby to Marie.

"She got your eyes Marie." Rod said.

"Let's name her.." Marie was saying until -

"Maria." Interrupted by Rod.

Maria Bailyn. That was the name.

A few days went by, and the couple welcomed the new child to the family.

One Wednesday, a stormy night came. Marie came home smelling like liquor, and her clothes soaked with rain water.

"It's been a long day." She said.

"Yes indeed." Rod replied.

He was reading a letter as he was seated on his red armchair by the fireplace. His face seemed odd. He had his face filled with confusion, and his eyes were filled with anger.

"Haven't seen you since you've married the beast?!" He exclaimed.

"I could explain!" She replied as she was trying to stop the newborn from crying.

"I have worked every single penny that built this house!" Rod started ranting.

"You may have worked to fund the marriage, but I never asked a single cent to buy myself a cigar!" He added.

"If you don't believe in me, I shall leave!" Marie replied.

"Don't you come back to me begging for a single glass of water!" She said as she walked out of their home to the stormy night.

"Wait." "Take the child with you!"

Marie left her daughter with Rod and went-off to live with her mother.

Not a single word about Marie was uttered. Never again.

Both sides, the couple parted ways in sorrow, but both thought of young Maria.
