Well, it's graduation day. She was moving up from middle school to Junior high.
She was a straight A student. Every teacher adored her. Well, she can't graduate just yet.
"Pops, I need a graduation dress!"
A day before graduation, and she can't get herself a dress.
"I still can't get a job, dear. Borrow from someone for now..." Rod said.
Rod was in despair. He never thought that the day would come. So broke that not even a single candy could be bought with the contents of his wallet.
Maria found a dress. It was a nurse uniform. "This would do.." She told herself.
She wondered:
"I'm graduating and moving up to junior high. Can't I have a mother to celebrate with me?"
The next day, she walked up the stage, graduating top two in her batch.
Rod didn't make it. He couldn't leave home, for he had to look for a part time job to find extra cash to celebrate Maria's achievement.
