Chapter 4- Meet My Mom.
The rest few days passed by without any events, until Saturday came.
"Julien! Jimmy! Amity! I'm home and what do I see? This house is a mess."
That's my mom. And she can pass for the craziest kind of event.I ran from my room and almost stumbled down the stairs. "Mom!" I almost cried because I had missed her so much. I met Jimmy on the couch and gave him a slap on the back of his head.
"Ow! What the hell, Am?" He exclaimed. I nodded towards my parents, who were in a deep embrace doing the thing they do which is the first step to making babies. Kissing.
Jimmy and I looked at each other then and quietly called out "3,2,1."
"Mom!"
"Dad"
"Eugh. Can you please spare us? This is like worse than any horror movie. I really won't be able to sleep at night."They finally broke apart and giggled like teenagers caught in act. So pathetic.
"Now Amity, won't you come here and give me a nice, warm hug?" My mom said cheerfully.
"Well you already got that and more." I muttered, though I was smiling when I went to hug her.
"Oh sweetie. I missed you."
" You too,mom."
"I have a surprise for you. Theo has sent you his present to make it up for not being able to come for your birthday." My mom said as she let go of me and kissed my forehead. Theo is my mom's younger brother.
I look so much like my mom. We have the same dark almond shaped eyes and wavy black hair.
"Ta-da!" She exclaimed while removing a small rectangular box wrapped with blue metallic wrapping paper.
"Give it to me!" I squealed like a baby. What? I love gifts.
I snatched the gift from my mom's hand and she goes to hug Jimmy. I opened up the paper and there before my presence appeared the cardboard box of a Nikon D3100. A bloody DSLR!
"Oh my God! Mom,this is awesome! Holy shit this is the model that I wanted the most." Oh Lord I think I might hyperventilate.
"Hahah, honey Theo knew that. Why don't you call him up to say many thanks?" My dad asked me.
"Yeah! I'll do that right now itself." I agreed.

After speaking to Theo and his wife, Lyla on the phone, I grabbed my hoodie and dashed down the stairs. I needed to go to the Art Academy to apply and register."Mom! Dad! I'm going out for a while. I'll be back by 7!" I called out and shut the front door behind me.
My parents trusted me enough to let me go out whenever I wanted and didn't keep a curfew.
I debated whether on not to take my bicycle and reach there quickly or have some time to think as I walked.
I went with the latter. I like it when I'm left alone with my thoughts. It gives me a few moments of introspecting my inner soul and managing the thoughts in my head.
However, there was no introspection done during the walk because the whole time I was pondering over the gorgeous looking guy Race Hunters. Ever since he made eye contact with me, I could only just think about how deep his soul was. Yeah, I did believe that eyes are the windows to the soul.
His were like a pool of magnets, attracting everyone within a 10 mile radius including me. His sandy brown hair contrasted very much with his dark eyes and creamy skin.I had never been able to maintain eye contact. I hated it in fact. It was just a thought behind the back of my mind that constantly nagged me," What if they come to know you are scared?" So I preferred to look straight ahead and never look anyone straight in the eye.
"HEY! Watch out, girlie!" Someone shouted.
I snapped out of my thoughts. I had been so engrossed in them that I didn't even realised I had strayed away from the sidewalk and onto the middle of the road. My heart missed a beat as I saw I was only 2 inches or so away from a car.
"Sorry." I muttered,embarrassed.
I smiled as I saw that I had arrived at my destination. "Dolphin Swimmers' Art Academy" was written in bold cursive on a board. The building was not very huge; it was made out of stone, just like they were in Britain.
I entered and walked up to the receptionist sitting at a counter. "Hey, are you Miss Rowena?"
The woman looked up. Damn, I envied her soft, gentle features. Light blonde hair and big greenish hazel eyes with white skin.
"Yes,how may I help you?" She smiled politely.
"Oh great, I'm Amity Hayes. We spoke over the phone, remember?""Oh yes, Miss Hayes. Wait a moment, s'il vous plaît." She said.
"Sure." I said. She started looking through some paperwork and I wandered aimlessly around the white hall; it was elegantly decorated with abstract paintings and sketches. There were sculptures of ancient Kings and Queens standing by each other. I look so plain in comparison to the hall,I wonder what the students who go here will be like?
"Miss Hayes?" Rowena gestured for me to come over and I obeyed ."I need you to fill up these forms and pay the fees that is $34 per month."
I did as I was told, which took some time because they asked questions such as why I wanted to join their academy and stuff. I needed to think of a proper answer.
Once I was done, she led me to a classroom and just before she opened the door, she said," This is going to be your trial class. It's everyone's first class and will start in around 5 minutes. If you like it and wish to continue ,you are requested to pay us in cash after class gets over. This session includes first timers from other batches,so don't be shocked if you don't see the same group again. Have fun." Rowena opened the door and ushered me into a lively room with paint, drawing pencils and beautifully drawn sketches all over.
My eyes scanned the room and I wasn't shocked to see people who are well dressed. I'm the only exception.
Or maybe not...
I notice a boy in a black leather jacket. He sits with his back facing me. I sigh in relief because that way,I won't be the only one dealing with 15 judgemental looks. Not that I cared. I wasn't going to change my outfit for them. If I did, then it would be for me and only me. I'm the sole owner of my wishes.
The boy turns his head towards me,and I find myself staring at his rugged face and gazed deeper into those mesmerising ocean orbs of his.

Hey guys. So I know I updated really late. I was having a severe case of writer's block and couldn't find anything to motivate me, not even the moon. However, what did help me was the poem "Continuum" by Allen Curnow. It's a pensive and mesmerising poem that must be read, especially for people suffering from writer's block.
So anyway, I hope this chapter makes up for the wait;it's a long one. Leave your comments and feedback.
