Alien invasion

The team stood together in the cave, watching the satellite video that showed Justice-league members fighting against aliens. As Zatara called. He and Red Tornado shortly talked before the android left the team.

They watched the news of different cities. "Ladies and gentlemen, we've lost: Black Canary, Green Arrow, and the hawks. Other heroes reported dead or missing include Batman, Icon, Atom and Aquaman." The news lady exclaimed. A few moments later even Wonder Woman and Red Tornado disintegrated.

Kaldur took a step forward in the cycle the team currently stood in. "We are earths heroes now." Superboy turned his head towards him. "So, what are we waiting for? Theme song?" Riptide spoke up. "No, we need a strategy. Without one, we are dead as soon as we step out." Kaldur took up again. "Earths weapons are ineffective. And it has been made tragedy clear, a direct attack will not succeed."

Robin pulled up a 3D model of the globe on whom all points the aliens are were marked red. "This one got lost." Conner commented while pointing at a ship on the north pole. "It's Superman's fortress of solitude." "Superman has a fortress of solitude?" The clone asked a bit hurt. "Its powers must have attracted the alien's attention. At least enough to send a scout ship to investigate." Robin concluded. "We will target this lone ship." Aqualad announced. "Yeah, break it down, built more, hit those ugly aliens with their own mojo!" Wally exclaimed to which Artemis slapped the back of his head while commenting. "Martian and Kryptonian in the house?"

The redhead laughed awkwardly. "Uh, not that all Aliens are automatically ugly." Riptide intervened and all of them changed their clothes into some warmer and white or grey ones to blend better with the white surrounding. As they reached the fortress, Artemis went off alone to shoot her arrows at the ship from a good spot while Miss Martian disabled the communications of the ship.

The ship wasn't able to float any longer. It hit the ice and under which the two water-addicted members waited to attack. As the beam was about to hit Aqualad, Superboy and Wolf jumped at the cannon or whatever and changed its direction. Superboy disconnected it from the ship.

A beam was about to hit Superboy as Wolf pushed him out of the way. Miss Martian connected the cannon with the Bioship as two other Alien ships attacked them. Artemis was able to destroy one of them with her arrows and knock the other down. The archer was on her way back to her friends as the ship send a beam towards her and she vanished.

M'gann cried out as Riptide and Aqualad jumped in front of the team and destroyed the ship with their water. Back on the ship on the way to America Riptide barley listened to Kaldur and what he said.

Something didn't feel right. Like this all was just her imagination. She had enough experience to tell when something is just an imagination or real. But this felt like both. Something is extremely wrong here. She thought over and over again while trying to figure out what.

They saved a few soldiers and made their way towards the hall of Justice together. In the hall, Megan knelt at the destroyed statue of her uncle and grieved a bit, as she felt a presence which was supposed to be dead. She lifted the head and underneath was clearly visible and alive, Martian Manhunter.

They figured out, there could be a chance for the others to be alive, as another couple of alien ships attacked. The team led the soldiers towards the Zeta tubes and J'onn began to authorize the team. Miss M and Robin went through without problems. After the recognizing of KF, there was an explosion.

Aqualad threw Wally into the Zeta-tube while Conner freed an injured solider. He brought him through the tube before going in by himself. The soldiers all were hit by the beams until only the three heroes were still there. Aqualad and Riptide worked together on bringing Manhunter to the Tube. "They need you more than me." Aqualad reasoned before the two threw the man in.
