Dean's eyes slowly open, looking up to see Sam peering down at him with a smirk. Dean blinks a few times and slowly becomes aware of the fact that he was holding someone around the waist, and that their head was resting on his chest. He looks down, observing Scarlett's arm thrown across his chest. With his free hand he shoos Sammie away, whispering, "I'll wake her."
Sam smirks again, shaking his head a little and exiting the room. He can't help but note that they were both fully clothed. Surprisingly Dean didn't make a pass at her.
Dean brushed the hair out of Scarlett's face. The arm that had been thrown across him came up to rub her eyes as she yawned and sleepily opened them, her hand coming to rest flat on his chest. Her eyes widen, slowing moving up to his face. He smiles at her, "Morning."
She quickly sits up, slightly embarrassed, so she isn't touching him. "Morning," her voice is sleepy. She falls back on the pillow, having sat up too quickly.
She mentally scolds herself, taking note of the fact that she couldn't recall any nightmares... Maybe they're just blurring together? Or maybe they didn't come last night... Hmmm...
"You up for some breakfast?" Dean's voice pulls her back into reality.
"Huh? Oh um yeah sure that's fine." She blinks a few times, gazing up at him. Her thoughts wonder as they sit there for only seconds looking into each other's eyes.
Scarlett yanks her own eyes away as she sits up, the 2-3 second period of time wasted already starting to weigh on her. She stands, a little slower, and stretches before heading toward the door. Dean watches her, a little puzzled by his own emotions. He has never had this feeling before, a fondness, protectiveness maybe? But the latter was relatively common. He had a hero complex according to most of the people he knew.
He was surprised by her lack of interest though. It was a refresher for sure. Most women were... Different. Just not like her. Hell, Sammie seems to like her too.
But Bobby, Bobby has never mentioned her... That's what was really on his mind as he strayed into the living area. He plopped on the couch, leaning his head back and rubbing his eyes.
As he listens to the three voices coming from the kitchen, the memories of the night before play through his mind.
Sammie walks out, saving Dean from his own, very strange, thoughts.
"So, looks like we have a case. Scar and Bobby are going to come with us. It's looking like a vamp nest but we're still calling it by ear here because it could be a number of other things. Get ready, we'll get breakfast on the road." Dean nods and gets off the couch, heading into a nearby bathroom to splash some water on his face. As the water dripped into the sink, not only a little dirt came off, but his earlier thoughts were washed away too as new ones of the hunt started to cycle through his mind instead.
