The four of them sat in the Impala, Dean in the drivers seat, Scarlet in the passengers seat, Sammy behind her and Bobby behind Dean. The radio was on and every word, and sometimes even the guitar and/or drum solos, were being matched perfectly in the front seat. Sammy thought, not paying attention really as he tries to see if he can figure out if the two of them, belting out the lyrics of whatever rock song was on now, would really be good for each other. He couldn't think of a reason why not but then he also couldn't think of a reason they might be. It was a little out of character for him to be playing matchmaker but he just had this feeling. He wanted Dean to be happy, someone who knows about what they really do may be the only way for Dean to truly achieve that.
As they neared the building, Scarlet turned down the radio and they started going over the plan. "Just remember, you have to sound vulnerable, okay?" Dean says as he gently squeezes her thigh. She rolls her eyes at him.
Before she knew it Scarlet was by herself in the large, dark, cold warehouse. The very few lights began to flicker. "Dean?" Her voice is shaking slightly as she calls out for him. She freezes now, her breath visible as the air chills around her. She breathes out shakily, unsure of what to do now. She swallowed hard, looking around the warehouse, the few already flickering lights giving out. It was now dark, and the salt circle around her suddenly didn't make her feel safe anymore. "D-Dean?" She squeaked, squeezing her eyes shut.
Pretending to feel vulnerable was out of the question. She was terrified and completely vulnerable, for real. She shivered slightly as the sound of chains dragging across the floor drew nearer. Sam better find the damn gloves... The last thing tying the god awful thing to the planet and it had to be a pair of work gloves in an old warehouse, peachy.
Scarlett was ripped from her thoughts when it rounded a corner and came into view. Her entire body froze as she stared at the drenched man limping toward her. Chains hung from his old clothing and water dripped from him but disappeared once it hit the floor. His eyes were so blue they practically glowed. And she was absolutely beyond terrified. She couldn't even call for Dean or so much as close her eyes. She just watched as he approached her mumbling about betrayal and love.
"How could you my love? How could you betray me?" His old timey English accent was audible. "You whore!" He lunged forward and without thinking Scarlett jumped back, breaking the circle and tripping over something hard and invisible in the dark room.
After that everything went too quickly from her perspective. Dean jumped to the rescue, slashing an iron rod through the ghosts head and causing him to disappear, at least for now, Dean kneels next to Scarlett, "you alright?"
She looks at him for a moment, a little dazed and confused before her gaze comes back into reality and she suddenly throws her arms around his neck and tightly pulls her body to his. He catches her with ease but has to stand up so he doesn't lose his balance and he brings her up with him. Her feet dangle in the air slightly as she resists the urge to cling to him like a baby sloth would do to it's mother. His arms are tightly wrapped around her middle and he shushes her softly and comfortingly. "It's okay, you're alright Scar."
"Uh, Dean?" She asks a few moments after she loosens her grip slightly.
"Yeah?"
"You can put me down now," she says softly.
"Oh, right, uh-sorry." He says as he bends so her feet gently come in contact with the ground before loosening his grip and letting his hands slide to her hips as he straightens his posture. Her arms slide down his shoulders and rest over his.
"Thanks doll." She says with a soft smile. He nods slightly and smiles back. Sammy clears his throat suddenly, making her shiver slightly, which would have gone completely unnoticed if Dean hadn't still had a hand on her hip. Dean glances at her slightly and smirks a little. She shoots a slight scowl at him as if to tell him to keep his mouth shut.
