Princess Leia Organa had not slept in days. She'd been at the bedside of the boy she'd saved from choking in space. He was inches from death when she found him, but, surprisingly, he was still breathing. Ever since then, he'd been hooked up to oxygen and various other things, trying to keep him alive. He'd been improving, but there was just no telling. She had been there for four days now. She was getting sort of bored. He wasn't as interesting now as he was initially. She sighed and stood up, stretched, and turned on C3-PO, her protocol droid.
"Hello, Princess," he said once he woke up. "What can I do for you?"
"Watch the boy," she said, walking to the door. "Notify me if anything happens."
"Of course," Threepio replied, turning to the boy. R2-D2 rolled in, making inquisitive noises.
"I am watching the boy the princess rescued," Threepio replied. R2 made a series of beeps.
"I agree, he's not very interesting," Threepio agreed. "But isn't he the one who brought you back from the Empire?" R2 made a series of happy whistles.
"Well, at least he's good for something," Threepio replied. R2 said something in robot.
"A Jedi?" Threepio scoffed. "Why on earth would you think that?" R2 said something back.
"You just know? Well, in that case." R2 made a series of annoyed beeps.
"I'm just joking, R2." The two droids sat in silence for a while, then the boy groaned.
"What?" Threepio asked, looking over at him. "Why, I do say, I think he's waking up."
"What?" he slurred. "Where am I?"
"Oh!" Threepio exclaimed, standing up. "He is! I will notify the princess." He walked out in a hurry. R2 made a couple happy noises, rolling closer to him. He looked over at R2 and smiled.
"I remember you," he said. "Hey." Princess Leia ran in, stopping suddenly, her dress coiling around her ankles. The boy looked up at her and stared. Her thick brown hair flowed in long waves down her back all the way to her hips, her white dress making her look almost angelic.
"You're awake!" she said in surprise.
"Yeah," the boy replied. "Hi."
"Hello," Leia said, sitting beside him. "What's your name, if you remember?"
"I..." He stopped. "I don't."
"Oh," Leia said. "Would you like mine?"
"Sure," Ezra replied.
"I am Princess Leia Organa," she said with authority. "It's good to meet you."
"You too," he replied with a smile. "I think I remember my name now."
"Really?" Leia asked, setting her hands on one of his.
"Yeah," he said, taking her hand. "It's Ezra. Ezra Bridger."
