It has been a couple of weeks of you and Steve trying to ask each other out. He went to Peggy and she was so happy for Steve. She told him to just tell you. But not to scare you off and be too upfront. Neither of you knew you guys are in love with each other. But something always came up. So you both called Nat to help you guys get together. Every mission you guys went on, whether it be you and Steve both on the same mission or,  just when both of you guys were on separate missions with Nat. But you were always busy. Your body count is at about ten or more now. Killing wise or hooking up wise. But you didn't care.

You and Steve were just sitting on the couch doing your guys' own thing. "Y/N?" You nodded "Yeah." He sighed "Do you want to meet Peggy?" You looked up from your notebook "Yeah I would love to meet her she's a badass. Are you sure though?" He nodded "Absolutely sure. We both have a half-day tomorrow so what do you think." You thought about "Sure. Tomorrow then." He nodded "Tomorrow then."

You were outside her room. Steve said you should go in first. So you did and you just stood there frozen. She looked at you and smiled "So this is the woman that Steve keeps on talking about." You blushed "Yes, Ma'am." She gestured you to sit down by her. "You don't have to call me Ma'am. Peggy is great" You studdered out "I feel like I have to. I'm working for the organization you founded." She sat up "It's okay I'm telling you you can call me Peggy. That's an order." You smiled "Okay Peggy." She smiled "So I know your name but since I have Alzheimer's. It's Y/N Lilith Stan." You nodded "Yes it is."

She then blurted out "You love Steve." You looked shocked "Yes." You then said without thinking. Her eyes lit up "Then you should tell him." You sighed "I try to ask him out but something always comes up. Sometimes I just want to say 'I love you. But I chicken out." She nods "Okay. But I think you should tell him. He loves you too you know." You smiled and giggled "Yeah I know." She was shocked to hear that "How do you know? Why didn't you tell him?" You sighed "I am an assassin. So in my training, I had to learn how to read body language. Another very embarrassing reason. The best way I can describe it is I'm like a nervous schoolgirl with a crush."

She understood "Well you should ask him to dance." You immediately shook your head "No that's your guys' thing. I wouldn't want to take that from you guys." She nodded "Okay maybe take him out to..." She was thinking "You should do a morning run with him then go out for breakfast. When are you off." You looked at your schedule "I am off in about a week." She looked unhappy with that "I may not have my status there anymore but I know Fury. I can pull a few strings. I will tell him to give you a day off. For obvious reasons." You smiled "Thank you, Peggy."

She smiled back at you you looked at her even in old age she looks beautiful "I honestly moved one from Steve about a year after. I had to work at the SSR at the time. With Howard being branded for treason. Then me working as a double agent at the time. I had a vile of Steve's blood and I poured it down the Brooklyn bridge from that day on I have moved on. I fell in love with a fellow agent Sousa. That I married and had two beautiful kids with."

She gestured to the photos "I understood why he never moved on until now. To me it was seventy years but to him, it has only been three. Take care of him Y/N. I may not love him anymore but he is still my best friend." You drew a cross on your heart "I will. I think I should let Steve talk to you." She nodded "Before you go in the last year I have been watching your movies. I have to say you were and still are a good actress." You then got flustered and studdered out "Thank you, Ma'am. Uh... Peggy." She smiled "It was nice meeting you." Your eyes lit up "It was nice meeting you too."

You walked out of the room and nodded to Steve. He went in and you sat at a chair by the door of the room. You smelled the nursing home. This was the only way you could experience one. You would never get older and you would never stay at a place like this. You were grateful but sad at the same time. You had plans to get married, have kids, grow old with your spouse and see your grandchildren run around while you were struggling to get up from the rocking chair. Now you would never age. With that, you just realized the underlying reason you didn't want to get in a relationship with Steve. While he can age slowly because of the serum he will age by the twenty-second century.
