KARNA : THE WARRIOR

CHAPTER 7

Karna reached river bank and does his pooja. He was happy today not only because he was one step closer of his Gurudhkhsina but also because he made two friends that have thoughts similar to him. After listening to Dussashan he was clear that though brought up in palace Kauravas especially Duryodhana has faced several difficulty. He was thinking several things after his pooja after sorting out his thoughts he turned around to leave for his him but when he turned around he was shocked to see you who was behind him. It was none other than Gangaputr Bheeshma.

Karna : Pranipat Mahamahim.

Bheeshma : Kalyan ho Vatsya.

Karna : You are here and how long were you standing.

Bheeshma : I am returning from my Pooja too. I saw you lost in your thoughts so I stopped. What are you thinking.

Karna : Several things Mahamahim. But my thoughts are enough reason for Mahamahim of Hastinapur to Stop. What is it that you truly here for Mahamahim.

Bheeshma (sighed) : I wanted to talk to you, Karna. I want to ask you, why have let your battle with Arjun prolong. You could have disarmed him earlier.

Karna : What would have that achieved Mahamahim. I would have won but that was never my motive. I have no eagerness to prove my worth to anyone and neither I crave for fame. I have no enimity towards anyone neither I hope grudges. I came there to shatter someone's arrogance because in his arrogance he disrespected several people which includes my teacher too and if you see me holding back I am sure he saw that too. I have achieved what I came for.

Bheeshma : I can see that but if you don't hold grudges why are you calling me Mahamahim instead of Gurubhrata even if we are alone. Don't you still hold grudges because I have told adhiratha to let you out of Hastinapur.

Karna : I have no qualms regarding you asking Pitashree to let me go out of Hastinapur, in hindsight it proved way too beneficial to me. All I have is just disappointment that you who got knowledge from Devguru brihaspati believes Caste is based on birth and not on tallent. As for not calling you Gurubhrata, I have my reasons Mahamahim first you lifted your weapons against our gurudev I could let it go for once because of circumstances and second today you let someone disrespect all the teachers which includes Mahadev and your several teacher too, why because of reputation of Hastinapur? If you could not stand up after disrespect of your teacher then I am sorry to say because of this I could never accept you as Gurubhrata.

Bheeshma was Shocked because of his tone because it was flat, there was no disrespect, no disgust, no anger but indifference. But he couldn't reply because what he said was bitter truth.

Bheeshma (sighed) : I can't say I have any excuses. But you too have chosen wrong today you shouldn't sided with duryodhana. It pains me say that he is astray from dharm.

Karna : I have not chosen him Mahamahim but he has chosen me. When I was called suta and was insulted he stood up for me. Is this the person he is astray from dharm then where was you and son of Dharmraj Yamdev, Yudhishthir when everything was happening. Mahamahim I promised to be with him till he becomes Adharmi but you have already made judgement that he is Adharmi. For what he stands opposite to Devputra Pandavas then are you forgetting he and other Kauravas are boon of Mahadev too. Even if he is astray from dharm then it is your failures as elder who should bhave guided towards Dharm.

Bheeshma was again shocked hearing that again he couldn't find words to retort that.

Karna : Mahamahim I am leaving, my parents will be waiting for me I have to palace for my rajya Abhishek too.

Karna left there leaving Bheeshma there in deep thought. Karna reached his home. He saw his father and mother was waiting for him.

Adhiratha (angry) : Vasusen, why have you jumped in the arena today. Didn't you said that you didn't want fame.
