Footsteps can be heard as they walked through the corridor, making their way to Aether's private study. None of them open their mouth to say a single word. The guard who was guarding the study bowed at the two men and pushed the door open for them to enter. Once they got inside, Aether locked the door behind them.

Aether walked pass Dainsleif and stood right in front of him. "Dain..." he started. He clenched his fist hard. "Why are you avoiding me, so sudden?" Dainsleif's breath startled. "Why you kept saying you're busy with your duties?"

"It's because I'm really busy wi-"

"I've known you for years, Dain. No matter how loaded duties you have, you will attend to me. Or at least you will write to me and tell me what's stopping you but you sent me empty letters. You didn't tell what's your duties were and where you at. For a week!"

"My prince-"

"What have I done wrong to you, Dain? What exactly happened? You acted like this since my birthday so I assumed I've done something bad to you while I was drunk," Aether's voice started to shake. "You never leave me like this, Dain..." tears started to pool in his eyes.

Dainsleif's heart tightened seeing the prince's reaction. He slowly put his hands on Aether's small shoulders. "My prince..."

Aether turned to look at him, eyebrows pulled closer together. "I miss your company, Dain. What did I do wrong?" he sniffled. He couldn't stop the tears from rolling down.

Dainsleif lowly sighed. His heart felt heavy. He hated seeing the prince looked helpless like this. "My prince... it's not your fault. It's mine," he was a little bit stuttered between the words.

Aether looked at him, confused. "What do you mean?"

Dainsleif swiped the tears from the prince's beautiful eyes. "At the party, you were drunk and suddenly you fell down, unconscious, that I had to bring you back to your room. And you said that you were feeling hot so I helped you to take off your clothes," Dainsleif tried to calm himself. "And..." he started to think if it's a good idea to tell him but there was no turn back around. "You... kissed me,"

Aether's eyes widened. "I did what?" he almost sounded disbelieve.

"You kissed me," Dainsleif repeated himself. He clenched hard his jaws. "I'm so sorry, Aether... but you seduced me and asked me to 'touch' you... and I did," Dainsleif lowered himself. The guilt of taking advantage on the prince made him felt horrible.

Aether took a step back and covered his reddened face. What have I done? Did I just let my feelings control my mind? What does he mean by 'touch'? Don't tell me- Aether's face sketched of panic and horror. No wonder he avoided me. He thinks I'm not normal and- He forced himself to look a Dainsleif. Tears won't stop flowing down. "I'm so sorry, Dain. I-" he lost of words. "No wonder you wanted to avoid me all this time." His voice was shaky. "I understand if you find me disgusting, Dain," he finished his words. He turned away from him, avoiding his knight's eyes.

Dainsleif stepped forward to reach the prince. "Aether-"

"I'm so sorry, Dain, as I let my feelings took over my mind and forced you into doing something disgusting with me," he cut him. "I've had this feeling towards you for a long time and it just not normal and-" as he was about to finish his words, Dainsleif suddenly turned his small body to face him. Without warning, Dainsleif landed a kiss on his small lips. He wrapped his arms around his waist, embracing him. Dainsleif's sudden action made Aether's eyes widened, shocked. What? He wanted to push him away but Dainsleif only pulled him closer, deepening the kiss. Aether's tears rolled down once again as he slowly kissed the knight back. The both men poured their feelings into the kissed, telling the other that they had been longed for them. It was so clear.

After a moment, they pulled away from each other, trying to catch their breaths. Dainsleif locked his eyes into Aether's golden eyes. He moved his palm onto his soft cheek and rubbed away the tears that wettened the skin. "Aether..." he finally called Aether's name. "I never find you disgusting, at all. I... had fallen for you in a long time and knowing you have the mutual feelings with me, it makes my heart flatters and I'm so happy. But for what I've done... even though you were drunk and you asked me to do it... it felt wrong. It's like... I took advantage on you and using you for my own... desire. I should've control myself and stop you but I didn't. I feel so disgusted," Dainsleif lowered his head. For some reason, he felt like the burden of guilt he had in his hear was lifted after he confessed to the prince. "I've missed you so much, Aether. But I feel guilty of what I've done to you,"

Aether's face turned bright red as his knight finished his words. "Dain..." he started to sob again. "I've been waiting for this day, Dain. I've fallen in love with you for a long time but I'm just afraid to tell you because I'm scared you're going to hate me. I'm-" he took a deep breath. "I love you, Dain," Aether confessed.

Dainsleif looked at him. A smiled carved on his lips. "Aether, I feel the same as you are. But," he lowered his voice. A sudden sad expression appeared on his face. "Someone like me shouldn't have this feeling for his own prince, Aether." That sentence made Aether's heart sank. He knew well about this. He knew well since the beginning, no matter how much he loved him, they could never be together. He was the prince and Dainsleif was his knight. Their status was different. He was fated to marry a princess and that was it. Plus, they were both... men. People were going to hate them for this. But he couldn't just ignore his feelings.

Aether looked at him. "We can work that out," he simply said. He was unsure how, but he just wanted to be with him.

Dainsleif frowned. "But, Aether-" Aether cut him off with a kiss. Slowly, Aether pushed him to the table near them, trapping Dainsleif with this small body.

"I love you, Dain," he said and continued to kiss him.

That's it. Dainsleif gently put a hand on Aether's cheek and kissed him back. He had enough on ignoring his feelings and desires all this while. The moment he had waited for so long was right in front of him. He wanted him to be his. He wanted to love him. He wanted him to love him back. He wanted to cherish him. He wanted to be with him... for the rest of his life.
