Part 7- Desires (NSFW)

Since they confessed their feelings to each other, both Aether and Dainsleif got closer together again. Dainsleif attended to Aether's side every morning to wake him up, helping him with his works in the study and spent their time together as usual. When no one was around them, sometimes Aether will give him surprise kisses, making the knight madly blushed. Whenever the knight went out for his military duties, he will give the prince goodbye kisses on the lips and told him that he will return as early as he can. Their relationship was in secrecy and so private that no one ever noticed it even the slighter as they thought the prince and the knight were always close as they were. Except for the princess.

"You seem getting closer with your knight these days, Aether," Lumine casually said. As usual, the princess and the prince will have their evening tea together to spend their time together.

Aether startled for a bit and put down his half-empty ceramic cup on the table. "Aren't we the same as usual?" he asked her. He tried to calm himself. Knowing his sister, he was hoping she wouldn't notice anything strange as it was kind of impossible to hide everything from her.

"I mean... last time you were distanced," she said while taking the pink macaroon on the small plate.

Aether blinked a few times. "Ohh. Yeah. We made up just fine. We had a little fight," Aether explained.

Lumine took a bite of her macaroon and chewed. "Why you say it like you both are a couple?" Aether's eyes widened. His face started to get red. "I'm kidding. I know you relay to him so much that's why it's impossible for you to live without him," Lumine winked at him. "But you shouldn't do that anymore. Sooner or later, you're going to get yourself your own future queen. You couldn't relay on him for everything anymore at that time. You must think what's best for you and your wife by yourself," Lumine reminded him.

Aether's smile faded. Why she must say that? Aether forced himself to nod and smile, acting like he was agreeing with her. "What about you? You seem close with Sir Kaeya," it was Aether's turn to tease her. "I saw both of you alone at the garden yesterday,"

Lumine's face turned red. "W-we're just talking about works! You know the stuff about the north," Lumine quickly replied, trying to hide her flustering face. Aether laughed at her sister's reaction, throwing away the hurtful thoughts he had just now. They continued spending  their time that evening like siblings would do.

After that, Aether decided to visit the king at his own study. Aether walked around the corridors and halls, making his way to his father's study. Once he arrived in front of the big oak doors, he turned his head to the guards who were guarding the room. "I wish to see my father,"

The guards bowed at him. "I apologize, your highness. The king has returned to his bedchamber as he is unwell," one of the guards informed.

Aether frowned. "Oh my, is he okay? What happened?" he concernedly asked.

"As he was doing his paper works, he suddenly said he was dizzy and hard to breathe. We asked his assistants and physicians to bring him to his bedchamber. We believe he's resting now,"

"I shall visit-"

"Your highness," the other guard stopped the prince. "We were told that the king wished not to see anyone for now," he informed him.

Aether stopped his steps and turned back to the guards. "I see..." He was so concerned about his father's health as it was getting worse than before. No matter how much he wanted to visit him, he needed to respect his father's wish. Is there anything I could do? Aether brought his fingers on his chin and lost in thought.
