"My sweet babies, waking me up with breakfast, thank you." I kiss Apollo, Val and Zay on the heads.

"What about me?" Mateo asks turning around from the stove.

"Papa did nothing, we did it all." Val says and Apollo and Zay both nod.

Mateo scoffs before turning around.

I walk around the island, meeting with him. I wrap my arms around him and rest my head on his back.

"Thank you, my love." I say kissing his back "Happy Anniversary."

Mateo turns around after turning the burner off and cups my face. "Happy Anniversary, Tesoro." He smiles before pecking my lips

"Eww" Zay pretends to barf.

"F-f-food" Apollo mumbles

"I'm sorry, son. Here's a plate, take what you want." Mateo hands the kids plates. "What do you want, my love?"

I think the best part about having a boyfriend who grew up with parents as chefs, is that he can make a buffet in the morning like it's the easiest thing ever.

"Pizzelle, bacon, sausage, fruits and eggs, please."  Mateo gets me everything I asked for before placing the plate down in front of one of the stools.

"And a sweet tea, for my sweetie." He smiles

"You're so corny." I chuckle

"You love it." He says before kissing my head

Mateo gets himself a plate of food before sitting beside me.

"Don't choke on your food, man. Slow down. It's not going anywhere." Mateo tells Apollo as he starts coughing.

Apollo has a big appetite like Mateo. You'd think we don't feed him with the way he eats, but he eats more then enough. He's growing quite fast so his body is trying to keep up.

Zay finishes his food first. He's too busy playing air drums with his drum sticks and headphones on to tell us where he's going once he puts his plate in the sink.

Though I already know he's gonna go up to his room and play his drums all day.

"Apollo!" Val whines.

"B-b-bacon." Apollo looks innocently at his sister while he slowly takes a bite of her bacon.

Mateo and I laugh.

"Don't be afraid to ask, Apollo. You can't just take from someone." Mateo says putting more bacon on Apollo's plate. "Apologize to Val."

"S-s-sorry, Val." The 4-year-old whispers

"It's ok." Val says to her brother

"I didn't plan anything for us to do during the day. Only this evening. My parents offered to take the kids off our hands for the day, but that's up to you. What do you want to do?" Mateo asks

We're sitting in the tub, my back to his front. His arms are wrapped around my waist as my head lays on his chest.

"I don't mind staying home until we go out. I also don't mind having the kids here. Having an anniversary spent with the kids once and awhile isn't so bad." I say

"No it's not. At the end of the day all that matters to me is that you're happy." He whispers

We sit in the tub a bit longer, the tweets of birds outside and the faint giggles of the kids down in the courtyard.

Today's going perfect and I know Mateo's hoping it stays that way.

When we get out of the tub we dress in more comfortable clothing.
