I sighed heavily, snuggling back into whatever was keeping me warm. Usually, when I woke up in the hotel, it was always freezing, but for whatever reason, this morning was different. Sunlight streamed through my usually closed curtains which I found odd, but when I backed up into the blanket's warmth again and felt a muscular hand shoot out and grip my waist, my eyes flew open.
"Easy sweetheart, I only have so much self-control," a gravelly voice murmured in my ear.
I turned around, trailing my eyes up the muscular body I was pressed against to find Ezra gazing down at me through bright green eyes. His hair was out of the ponytail from last night, brushing the top of his shoulder while covering parts of his sculpted face. He looked utterly beautiful with his hair down, and I was tempted to thread my fingers through his locs when I realized exactly what type of situation I was currently in.
I accidentally fell asleep after having sex with my one-night stand instead of leaving right after and ghosting him, which was my original plan. My core ached as I shifted, trying to put space between Ezra and me, and it was then when I noticed the oversized t-shirt that was currently drowning my body.
"Good morning," he smirked as I pushed myself further away from him, only to topple onto the floor. I looked around to see that we were still in his living room, where we fucked last night.
"I'm not supposed to be here," I finally whispered, wondering if Dylan was blowing up my phone by now.
"No?" Ezra leaned over the couch, looking down on me with an amused expression.
I glared up at him. "It's called a one-night stand for a reason, not an overnight stand, cuddle until it's morning."
"So it's my fault you fell asleep while my cock was still buried inside you?" He arched an eyebrow. "Should I have thrown you out then, or once I finished cleaning you, and you woke up begging me not to leave because you couldn't sleep alone?"
Heat burned my face with so much intensity I wished I could disappear deep into a forest and never be found again. He shouldn't have seen me like that.
"Technically, yes, it was your fault I fell asleep like that but thank you for taking care of me," I mumbled sheepishly, not being able to meet his eyes.
He stared down at me in silence, making my face burn even more until I couldn't take it anymore.
"I should go," I finally whispered, wincing as I stood up to start looking for my belongings so I could snatch them up and run away.
"Let me make you breakfast," he finally spoke, standing up with me wearing nothing but boxers.
"Ezra," I sighed. This was suddenly starting to become too complicating. I should've known I wouldn't be able to have a decent one-night stand without something going wrong, but I was new to all of this.
"Just breakfast, and then you can leave," he countered.
"Fine," I huffed in defeat. "But I need to call Dylan and let him know I'm okay."
Ezra nodded, tying his hair in a high bun. "Your things are on the kitchen counter."
"Thanks," I muttered, brushing past him.
My eyes widened when I grabbed my phone and saw what time it was; then, I cringed when I saw how many missed texts and calls I had from Dylan. As soon as I pressed his name and held the phone up to my ear, he answered on the first ring. "Stazi, what the fuck? It's two in the afternoon; I was just getting ready to call the fucking police, where the hell are you?"
Guilt flooded my chest thinking of him worrying about me while I was cuddled up with a stranger.
"I'm at Ezra's."
