TORIS POV
I told the boys about my crazy plan. The plan is to fly to minnesota for amys next hockey game. I already had amy and chris talk over the phone in advance, Amy and chris talked through things, i asked amy to try help Chris with his anger. They both agreed to forget the bad blood and continue on as friends. Chris was alot better that he knew him and amy were friends.
We all told our folks that we were going on a camping trip, They didnt know we booked a plane flight to minnesota. This was one of the most mischievous things we had ever done, i mean sneaking down to back harlow road was bad but flying to another state was even worse!
We all met at the treehouse with our bags. "Hurry guys we need to get the bus, if we get the bus any later we are gonna miss the flight" said gordie, he was good at keeping us on track. We all ran down the street with our bags because we seen our bus. I never ran as fast in my life! Thank god we were able to make it. We sat at the back of the bus because there was 5 seats all together. I sat at the window, beside me was gordie, then chris, then vern and lastly teddy. Me and gordie held hands on the bus. Chris and teddy were back to their usual laughing and joking together. Gordie and i kept telling them to shut up or we would get kicked of. "You look so pretty" said gordie as he looked in my eyes. I just gave him a kiss, gordie was nice like that, thats why i love him.
"Is this our stop" asked Vern. "Yep let go guys" i said. We took our bags and of we went. The Airport was huge. We walked in and went to security. "Wheres your parents kids" asked the big tough security guard, the boys took 1 step back and gulped. I turned around and whispered to them "You guys are such scardy cats". "Well sir, our parents already went through we got lost but i called mom and she told us to go on up" i said to the security guard. I looked up at him, i didnt wanna show i was nervous. He let us through.
We got past security and went to airport mcdonald's, we all get cheeseburgers we were starving, we put our money together and bought some snacks for the plane. We checked the time, it was 10:00 and we had to be on the plane for 10:10, oh boy when i say we ran. We ran. "Hurry up vern" shouted gordie. "Im trying" answered vern. We were panting out of breath but we managed to get on the plane on time.
The journey was two hours wrong. We all fell asleep. Teddy snored so loud, The air hostess asked him to wake up twice, eventually he stopped. I had never seen tedddy so quiet. He was scared of flying, he basically slept the whole journey. I felt bad for vern, he was in between teddy and a big guy, vern was squased. I think he would be like a little twig by the time we got of. The plane had finally landed. We all got of and we were freezing, we didn't know minnesota was this cold! We made our way through the airport. "Okay wheres this bus stopped" said teddy. "I have no clue" said gordie. "Does anyone know" said teddy. We all shook our heads. We didnt know where we are, or where to go. "Wait, remember i picked up a minnesota map at the airport" Said vern. We were all so happy. Vern looked at us with a guilty face. "Oh what is it now" said Chris. "Sorry i forgot it on the plane" replied vern. When you are in my friend group you learn over time to never rely on vern when you need something.
There was a nice looking lady near the airport so i asked her. "sorry miss, could you tell me which bus stop i need to go to that will take me to minnesota ice rink, we lost our parents and they told us to meet them there" i asked in a sad toned so she felt bad. "Of course, if you walk straight there is a bus stop right outside that gas station, you should hop on bus 42, id say one will be here in about ten minutes, stay on the bus until it says kingston street, the ice rink is right beside it" said the nice woman. We said thanks and made our way to the bus stop. We were so so cold. The bus number 42 came and we hopped on and payed our fee. It was a nice ride. Minnesota is a nice place theres alot of buildings and apartments, its different to castlerock but i like it.
Finally we made our way into the stadium. "Woah this is huge" said gordie. The stadium started to fill up. We got popcorn and sit just in the middle, we could see perfectly, We waited for the game to start.
