Chapter 14

George is let inside and Karl goes to make the tea and get cake, leaving George and Sapnap to make awkward conversation.

"Well, it nice to meet you Sapnap, how long have you been living here with Karl?" George asks, planning on quizzing the alpha to make sure Karl has someone who was worthy of him.

"It nice meeting you too, I've been living here for a week now but as you know, me and Karl have been together for a while longer than that" he replies with a nervous laugh. Even though he was an alpha, George could tell he was hesitant and he wasn't sure why.

"What do you do for a living? Are there any hobbies you enjoy?" George questions, needing to know more about him.

"I work at a bar at the evenings and during the weekdays I work at a shops near here, I don't have many hobbies, but I like gaming" Sapnap answers, more confident now.

"Oh ok, my mate works as a bouncer at a bar just down the road from here, is it the same place?" George asks, intrigued.

"Yeah I think it is, is he called Dream?" Sapnap asks, knowing who George is talking about.

"Woah, he is, are you guys friends then?"

"Something like that" Sapnap replies vaguely.

Karl enters again with three plates of cake and three mugs of tea on a tray, he sets them down on the coffee table.

"Hey you guys, how are you George?" He asks, sitting down next to Sapnap on a sofa while George sits in an armchair.

"I'm not doing too bad, a bit worried about all of the omega attacks though" he says, noticing Sapnap looking at him weirdly, he brushes it off as nothing, "How are you guys doing?".

"We're good, I'm so happy Sapnap's finally moved in, we've wanted to do this for a long time."

"I know, I'm so happy for you both" George replies genuinely.

"And you've got Dream of course" Karl says, giving George a knowing look. Sapnap's face remains unreadable so George isn't able to tell whether he already knew about it or not.

George's face lights up at mention of his mate and he agrees with Karl "yeah I'm so lucky that he saved me, I don't know what would have happened if he wasn't there that night".

Sapnap sits there, occasionally joining in conversation with the other two but mainly staying silent, until his phone rings and, seeing the caller ID, he steps outside the room to take the call.

George and Karl continue to chat and catch up before George notices the time, it's nearly dark and he needs to get home.

"Well is was lovely seeing you, we should do this more often" he says standing on the doorstep with Karl seeing him out.

"Yes we should, I'd love to meet Dream as well sometime" Karl says.

George enthusiastically nods in response before turning to leave, "thank you for having me round, see you soon".

"Bye" Karl waves at his friend as he disappears down he pathway.

George walks away down the road towards the nearest bus stop, not noticing the footsteps behind him.
