George shoots back from the door, heart pumping and eyes wide. He can't believe what he's seen, someone who could only be Dream. He has so many questions, none of which he could find a good answer to on his own.

He sinks down the wall, burying his head in his knees, not knowing what to do. He sobs into his hands, feeling betrayed by Dream. He loves him, why would he do this, what should George do?

Eventually George has been sat there for at least an hour and is getting tired of crying, it isn't doing him any good and not getting him anywhere. He picks himself up and brushed himself off as a knock on his door causes him to tense up and turn around to face the noise.

A familiar shadow stands on the other side of the door. It slowly opens as if in slow motion in a movie, revealing the tall and muscular frame of George's lover: Dream.

He stands at the door, face trying to stay emotionless but George knows he is looking at him with sorrow and remorse, knowing he regrets what he did.

George doesn't say anything, waiting for Dream to say what he needs to.

"George" he says, almost a whisper, "I'm so sorry".

George still looks at him expectantly, almost bored, waiting for more of an explanation.

"I've been working here the whole time, you were always meant to be a target, I never thought I'd fall for you" Dreams drained struggles to say.

George is shocked at the last part but not enough to forgive the other, "how long have you been here?" He says, not letting Dream in on his emotions and hoping the tear stains on his face aren't too obvious.

"Around a year, but I was always just a guard, that is until a few months ago. Schlatt promoted me to deputy and when he went, well, I was happy to see him go; even helped him get caught, you would know, I told you to call the police on him". Dream explains.

It makes sense in George's mind, and he finally realises just how smart Dream is, he could never have fingered out what he was doing, let alone do it himself.

"Why are you here? Couldn't you just have let me to be sold, forget about me, make some money while your doing it." George says, letting through some of his anger but still restricting his own emotions.

"I could have" Dream says, almost regretting his decision, "but I couldn't face it, knowing what happens to everyone here, I couldn't let it happen to you".

"Then why do you let it happen to everyone else? Do you not find it wrong?" George says, mind going back to the two young boys, Tubbo and Tommy, they had their whole lives in front of them, just to be ruined by someone like Dream.

"It started when I was poor, last year, I couldn't even feed myself and the work as a guard paid quite well, I didn't need any qualifications. Then I guess I just got greedy, I ended up with expensive houses, living life as a millionaire, but always reminded of how I got here, who had to suffer for me."

George breaks eye contact with him, instead focusing on the wall. Dream takes his chin in his hand, slowly turning him so that they look into each other's eyes. George can't help it, he leans in and kisses Dream.

The emotions felt between the pair are exchanged as they kiss and they pull apart feign like they understand the other a thousand times better than they did just five minutes ago.

"What do we do now?" George is the one to break the silence.

"Well, I don't want to stay here, and I'm guessing neither do you" Dream replies with a familiar glint in his eyes.

"Are you suggesting we run away?" George asks, a new joking tone to his voice.

"Maybe" Dream says, taking George's hand in his.

The warmth between them radiates and fills their hearts with love, Dream drags his lover out of the door and they sneak away into the night, all they needed was each other, everything else would work out around them.
