Wait for Me - Alicia Clark {on hold}

What's your Story

A week have passed since I arrived in the factory. During these days I spent them a lot sleeping, trying to recover my lack of it and obviously, walking was a simple task that became impossible for me to do for at least until today, I think today may be a good day to try. June came twice a day to check up on me and changing my plasters, Faro stayed with me most part of the day, sometimes he left just to go outside but came back very quickly to look after me. I haven't met a lot of the group actually: Strand, Morgan, June and Alicia. I don't really know what to think about her, she's not mean or anything but she seems so distant but at the same time, she's the one sleeping the bed next to mine, she makes sure that I eat everyday and I'm sure she's the one who's putting the covers correctly when I sleep during the day. She's coldly warm if that make sense...

I think it's around 9AM and June is here to clean up my wounds, she's nice, she always has a warm smile, it feels good to see that nowadays.
-June, I think I might try to walk today!
-Really? Do you feel ready?
-I think so, but mostly I can't stay in bed one more hour or my body will be apart of that mattress!
It earned her a chuckle.
-Okay but you still have to be careful, I don't think wearing shoes is already necessary.
-Maybe multiple pairs of socks?
-Yes that could work, I'm going to look for it and I'll be back!
And with that, she cleaned everything and went to look for these famous socks. Faro is of course next to me and climbed on the bed as soon as she left so he could have his morning cuddles. Few minutes later she came back and we tried!
-Okay take my arms and try to lift you up!
I have to admit it was pretty hard after spending a week in a bed but after a maximum effort, I was finally standing again!
-Oh wow! It feels so strange to stand up again!
I was smiling so hard because I could feel the freedom gaining me again little by little.
-Alright I saw that you all can shower? Can I take one? I'm dying to feel fresh again!
-Of course, let me take you!
She was holding my waist and we walked slowly to them. They were in the locker room that must have bend where the employees changed to get ready before and after work.
-Sit down, I'm going to look for fresh clothes so you can change too, I'll be back!
After few minutes and a pile of fresh clothes, I am finally under warm water and this feeling is definitely the best in the world. It is so difficult today to have access to what was our basic life before such as food, water and hygiene that it looks like luxury today.
I have no idea how long I stayed there but I had to get out, my feet were starting to let me down slowly, I knew I had to sit soon. I could barely walk alone to sit and change that it felt impossible to imagine walking back to my bed. I am now on the floor, dressed up with new jeans and a sweater, my only options is to shout and hope someone is near me that could came and help, I feel so desperate, vulnerable and weak.
-Hey?! Is anybody here??? I need help!
And I tried again and again. By the fourth time I yelled I finally heard footsteps running towards me.
-Where are you?
Thank god Alicia was around.
-Over there near the showers!
She is now next to me, a questioning look on her face.
-What are you doing here? How did you get here?
-June helped me to come here but I don't know where she is now and I can't walk back to my bed alone...
I said a little ashamed.
-Okay let me help!
She kneeled next to me and held me by my waist.
-Put you arm around me, on three we're gonna stand up okay? One, two, three let's go!
It actually worked pretty good despite the fact she isn't taller than me.
-Are you okay?
-Yes, yes but I can't go fast...
-It's okay, take your time.
I haven't seen her this talkative since I'm here and to be honest, it feels good to see she's warming up a little. She was patient, she didn't rush me or anything, she truly took her time to make sure I was going on my pace.
-What made you realise you could walk?
-My body melting away in this bed I think? More seriously I see my feet are getting better so I thought I could try today to at least finally shower.
-That's great!
-Thank you for being around when I needed someone by the way!
-I was coming to get you some food, that's why I heard you actually. Okay we're here!
I sat back on my bed, while she was looking for something on her bed close to mine.
-Here, they got interesting thing when they looked for supplies last time, I thought you would enjoy a cereal bar and a coffee.
She handed me the breakfast with a shy smile.
-Oh wow! Thank you so much! I have to admit I missed coffee a lot!
When I finally could taste it I thought it was heaven on earth, I couldn't hide my happiness which earned Alicia a chuckle.
When I finished, Alicia stood up to go but I stopped her.
-Alicia?
-Mhh?
-Can you stay a little? I'm tired of being here alone in this big hall... Or maybe you have better things to do...
-No I can stay, I don't have much to do today anyway!
-Thank you!
I said with a grateful smile.
-Can you tell me more about the people here? I still haven't met properly a lot of them so... I thought you could tell me a little bit more?
And with that, she started to talk about each person living here, how they got here with the group, what happened to them in general and everything. It felt so good to finally know more about where I'm staying at and to have someone to talk to. I completely forgot what it was like to have company  and especially someone around my age. We talked a lot, most of the day actually until it was time to eat dinner.
-Do you want to come tonight?
-Yes I would love to! I can try to walk it won't be too far I guess?
-No don't worry, I'll help you out if you need to.

The evening was amazing! I finally met everyone who lived here, the dynamic is great, everyone has its own place and role to play, it sounds pleasing living here, I'm sure Faro would love to stay with a lot of people... I'm not so sure about myself though. After eating well and socialising, most of us went to bed, myself included. I'm now settled in bed, Faro with me being the little spoon, ready to sleep until I saw Alicia dressed in shorts and a sweater with big socks, her hair down going to bed as well. She smiled at the sight of how Faro made himself comfortable next to me.
-He really knows best!
-Oh you have no idea!
We shared a giggle. I am happy to bound a little with someone to be honest, I enjoy being and living alone out there but I can't deny it, it's great to have someone around, especially when you seem to get along...
-Good nigh Y/n!
-Good night Alicia!
And she shut the small lamp she has next to her bed, ready to pass another night with them.
-Y/n?
-Yes?
