The Past

Izumi POV (Present Day)

As I entered the room, I saw that Kya and Lee were paying good attention. It looked like Luke didn't give them a family history this time.

Luke POV

"Izumi is back," I said.

"No, go on, I just want to listen," Izumi said.

"Yeah, hurry up. Mom will soon be back," Kya said.

"Okay, so there I was, I mean, there we were," I said as we remembered.

Luke POV (Tenzin's Birthday/Day of the Past)

Wow, so we were in the past. I'm not too sure because we landed on a wide, rocky field. Lin got into a stance, stepped on the ground hard, and said, "There are some buildings under us," pointing along a cliff.

I noticed I had seen this in Lee's papers. "The Western Air Temple," I said, as Izumi looked amazed.

"Let's check it out," Tenzin said.

"Can you fly over to check?" UB asked him.

"Not really," Tenzin said.

It was almost night, and Asuki said we didn't have more than four sleeping bags and no roof over our heads in case of rain. The night began.

"I think we should use this rope and head down to a temple," UB said, holding the rope.

"What if we are caught by anyone? Let's try to avoid getting seen," Izumi said.

"Okay, we are heading down. When you're ready, you pick a spot to sleep," UB said to Izumi.

"Let's try not to separate; it's too risky," Izumi said.

"Okay, so where are we?" I asked.

"I don't know," Izumi replied.

"If I fall asleep, no one should wake me up because this has been a really tiring birthday. No offense, Tenzin," UB said.

"It's okay," Tenzin said as he sat down.

"Fine, but let's not go far," Izumi said.

"I sense the temple under us is empty and not too far," Lin said.

So we set the rope longer and climbed down slowly. We saw a big airship land and park. As I jumped off the rope to where we were setting up, I listened to what I could hear. I heard some talking in the distance.

"Did you at least get any meat?" a female voice, a girl about my age, said.

"Yes, the best meat of all, the meat of family and friendship," a male voice said.

"Dad," another female voice said.

I stroked my chin, trying to remember where I had heard this before.

"Did you hear that? From Mom's story, this is when Dad and her brother brought her dad back from the Boiling Rock prison," Izumi said with a big smile.

"Meaning you know when we are?" Asuki asked.

"I think. I'm not too sure, but yes," Izumi said.

"We need sleep first," UB said.

"Yes, because I think tomorrow there will be an attack by Fire Nation people that will cause them to leave here for a field of whose location I don't know," Izumi said.

"I don't think it goes like that," Asuki said to Izumi.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever happens, we will follow them," UB said while lying down.
