"(Y/n)!" Zatz called as he trotted through the forest.
"Zatz! I told you earlier theit going to need sometime" Maya called after him.
"I think a night is plenty of time to think by one's self" Zatz replied.
"You just have to let the shock subside and the excitement will kick in" Maya tried to reason.
"Who's to say they will be excited, I mean look what happened to us. We both died and you faught gods left to right" Zatz argued back.
"Are you say you regret our prophecy?" Maya seemed a little angry now.
"No! It was necessary for everyone's survival but I can see why they wouldn't want to be involved in anything like that. For all we know it traumatized us. I mean we got killed, my father and mother died for the cause, your brother's died, Picchu also died. It was truly an unreal experience that I personally wouldn't want to get involved with in their situation" He tried to reason.
"So you only did so because you had to? You didn't want to?" Maya seemed to get even more agitated.
"That's not what I'm trying to say Maya. I'm just trying to convey that not everyone in as excited for adventure as you may be. I mean you at least found out on your own accord. They was told in front of your entire city that they will have to choose new gods and marry the king while everyone watch. Would that not be uncomfortable even just a little fir you?" Zatz spoke.
"What I'm hearing is that you are just as unprepared for this prophcey as they were. You can't run from one, we of all people should know that. Maybe you should run off for a bit to figure things out" Maya puffed.
"Well it appears that (Y/n) already has" Zatz replied now defensive.
"Whatever, I'm heading back to see what happened to my home. You can look for them all you want!" Maya turned and walked off.
*~~~~~~*
"Ah!" You growled, swinging your axe into the wood of a rotting log.
The sun had bit the day good morning as it just began to rise off the horizon, painting the forest in a orange light. Your rest had been terrible, unable to stop thinking about your supposed fate and chances of just ridding yourself of it.
"Who do they think they are? Demanding me to do some stupid job just because I have duel colored eyes. I can't be the only one with it and no way they think they have the power to force me to do this. All people in prophecies ether die or get screwed over in some way" you muttered to yourself as you tried to push your axe deeprr into the log,"do we even need new gods? Like did they not see what happened last time!"
"So full of emotion I see" a voice spoke from out of your sight.
Your ripped you axe free and turned around defensively. Your anger only spiked at the voice as you gazed around. You didn't have to look for long when an older looking lady walked out into your line of sight. She had her hair braided into a branch like look, flowers and butterflies decorating it. She was short and wore forest inspired clothes. You relaxed slightly, letting your axe fall to your side with a breath.
"Who are you?" You asked hesitantly.
"I am Abush, nothing and everything is what I am and see. I see you have ran, away from your fate and away from such an important task. Why must you fear new gods if you pick them? Why worry when you lead the way? Sure guidance will be landed but you will make the choices" she asked.
"Because I am not perfect. How can I pick someone to be a god let alone knowing how to create one" you spoke, trying to defend your argument.
"That is the journey my child. Seek out your answers and make your educated choices. Others know the importance of this task as well, one seeks you now while the other looks for answers. You can't escape this fate, a prophcey always becomes completed and it is wise to move now. While the choice is under Bo pressure of other forces" she advised.
"Other forces? What do you mean?" You asked.
"You must go while the choice is your and not another, go" she spoke before backing off into a bush and disapreaing.
"Wait, what are you talking about" you asked again, pushing the bush around in search of her.
"Why must life constantly be interrupted by people who have there own plans intended for me" you grumbled before sliding down the side of a tree.
You keep there for a while to breath, closing your eyes and trying to clear your mind. The wind gently fluffed your hair and ruffled leaves along the trees. Your thoughts slowly fell silent and you found yourself regaining composer. All seemed to pause as the sunlight warmed your body. The birds sang a beautiful tone as if the world was all at peace. But it wasn't, your birthplace scorched and try to regrow even years later, your home full of starvation, life seemed distant. Almost as if it was stretched thin and people feared the unknown. You sighed heavily as you stood back up as you reopened your eyes.
"Lets see fate try to stop me" you muttered, sliding up to your feet.
"(Y/n)!" Called a voice after you as you turned towards the voice to find Zatz.
"Well, guess that lady was telling truth on one thing. I'll have to test the rest" you muttered once more before walking into the derection of Zatz's voice, "Zatz?"
"(Y/n)!" He called running in your derection, practically falling over a tree root.
"Well don't go eaten dirt over me" you chuckled, helping him steady himself.
"Oh I'm fine, are you?" He asked looking you over.
"I'm fine" you replied before taking a step back, "why are you here?"
"I'm here to make sure your alright. You took the news pretty hard, not that you shouldn't have. I'd be upset to be told my whole life is to be a god maker, would that be the term?" He asked the last part.
"I guess" you chuckled, "but yeah, I don't think I'm going to try it. What so ever. I choose my fate not some storyteller or old wife's tale."
"You do know that this one is an actual prophcey? Some of them can be speculated but this has been proven true. Maya tried most of her adventure running so she wouldn't be sacrificed. In the end her sacrifice was needed to save the world. Fate has an odd way of twisting things" he spoke.
"Yes but she ran towards the quest, has anyone ever ran away?" You asked.
"Yes actually, there was the city who had disrespected the gods greatly. Something about calling the goddess of death ugly or something but it really angered them. They sent one of great beasts to destroy their city. If they defeated the beast, they would fall back into their good graces. Many began to evacuat, including the one an old wife's tale was told. He tried to run and got landed right into the beast, a giant boar with razor spikes. He had to fight it" Zatz explained.
"Did he live?" You asked.
"Most said he did, some say he was eaten and became part of the beast. Most of the gods' beasts were created in there favor, the godess of death made owls, vultures, crows, and ravens, normal beasts that fit the environment" he explained.
"What about your dad? What did he make?" You asked.
"He only created one beast, it was horse with bat wings, he called it a Nightmare. I loved them growing up but then the god of war got power hungry amd we relocated our home. Haven't seen them since" Zatz explained.
"So I can't out run it?" You asked.
"We can't out run this, I know it's not appealing but if it helps I'll keep the king off your back and we'll figure this stuff out" Zatz promised.
"At least it'll be tolerable, I'm not getting married to some random person I don't even know the name of" you spoke, "but don't do the silly thing is story's where the one friend pretends to be their significant other. These stories are odd."
You both chuckled as he began to lead the way. You seemed calmer as you walked with him. "Atleast we aren't fighting beasts" you muttered as you followed him.
