***A/N: I'm currently going through and editing the chapters one by one. I apologize if some of the chapters don't make sense. I'm not changing any of the big events that happen, just fixing the writing and making them better but they should still be easy to follow and not be too confusing. I'm sorry for your inconvenience***
--One week prior--
"As you can see, It is all planned out perfectly. Lindsay and I have been planning to fly out to California to see Annie. I worked hard after school throughout the entire year just so I could get a 4.0 GPA and make enough money to pay for a one way ticket there. Now I can see you guys asking "But Jocelyn, why a one way ticket? Lindsay has a round trip ticket and surely you don't want to be left there by yourself" I explained to my parents.
"Well why didn't-" My mom butted in.
"Zip!" I hissed and pointed a finger at her "You promised you stay quiet until the end" I reminded her
She sighed and sat back in her chair, resting her hands on the packet I had made them.
"As I was saying" I continued "I have already talked to Annie and asked that if it was ok with you guys, if I could spend the summer in California. Annie is going to take very good care of me and I plan on auditioning for some small commercials or maybe even some bigger things. You always tell me how it's practically impossible to make it as an actor and I understand that it will take a lot of work which is why I wanted to give it a try and see if I can show you that I have a chance."
My dad had sat quietly throughout the entire conversation but the look on his face said more then words could. His 15 year old (almost 16) daughter had single handedly made a plan to fly 3,000 miles away for the entire summer and was expected to get an audition for some type of production.
"Jocelyn...." He sighed
"Dad I am serious about this. And If this summer doesn't work out then I'll give up my dream of being an actress and work towards going to Brown University like you want me too."
He sat there quietly thinking, occasionally exchanging glances with my mom.
Finally he let out a sigh of defeat. "Fine. But only if you stick to your word and if you aren't successful then you'll work on going to Brown to become a doctor like we planned. I will admit that you did work really hard this year to go to California with your sister... and I guess I'll call Annie and talk to her about this but I'm not happy about it.".
I squealed and jumped up and down, tossing the papers I had made to prove why I was worthy of going to California in the air. "Thank you, thank you so much dad!" I squealed and ran over to hug him, followed by a big hug for my mom who for the first time ever was silent. "I'm gonna go pack!"
"Jocelyn, you have a whole week" My dad reminded me
"I know! I'm already behind!" I yelled as I ran up the stairs to my bedroom.

-Present day-
Hi! My names Jocelyn Marie Meyers. I'm turning 16 in 3 weeks. I have 2 sisters, 1 brother, 1 mom, 1 dad. Pretty simple. My sisters names are Annie and Lindsay, and my brother's name is Eric.
I live with my mom, dad, and brother in Pennsylvania. Any who, today I am going to California with my sister Lindsay, to see Annie.
A few years ago my sister, Annie, graduated from NYU. After that she moved to California with a really good job offer. Since it's been so long me and my sister Lindsay are flying to California to see her.
So before we get on into the story about how I met R5, I think why not tell you a few things.
1.I've always wanted to go to California for so many reasons!
-My favorite band lives there
-the beaches are amazing
-that's where every actress makes it!
I know it's silly to think that me out of 7 billion people would even try to get a role in a production but my plan is that if I can get a gig out here, even a little one, then that would convince my parents that I have enough potential to let me stay out here.
Good enough introduction? Good, then lets get on with the story shall we?

“Sis we are gonna be late, hurry!” I called out to Lindsay as I shoved my bags into the back seat of her car.
“Joce! Calm down we will be FINE” She groaned as she put her bags in the trunk.
I groaned and slid into the front seat closing the door behind me. I set my Hello Kitty backpack beside me and dug out my iPhone and ear buds. Lindsay sat in the drivers seat and started the car. As she pulled away from the house I put my headphones in and of course, I was listening to R5. R5 Is my favorite band ever. I know everything about them and I may have a slight crush on Ross, But hey, doesn't the rest of the world? It's pointless for me to think I'd have the chance to meet him or anything. I'd already checked their website for any upcoming shows but unfortunately they had none until the last few weeks I was here and they we're in Santa Monica and San Francisco. There's always that slight bit of hope though.
The car drove onto the high way and our drive finally commenced.
About 2 and a half hours later we arrived at the airport. After baggage check and security check we were on our way to the airport Starbucks. We both sat down with our hot chocolates and drank in silence. I know we were both thinking about different things. I was dreaming about running into an R5 member. Creating stories in my head. I mean what better to do, right? I looked down at my phone. 10: 50
“Hey, we should get going. Our flight leaves in 10.” I told my sister.
She nodded and within 25 minutes, we were in the air on our way to California. If only I knew what the world had planed for me. If I only knew...
