Jocelyn's POV
By the time we returned we had spent at least an hour walking through Whole Foods. Once I explained to Stormie what I could and couldn't have she went through the store reading labels and buying anything she saw that either said 'GLUTEN-FREE' or that I said was ok.
“I'm glad we did that Jocelyn. It's already like you're part of the family. I think you'll be spending a lot of time here” She smiled at me.
I blushed and smiled at her. Family... already?
“I like being here. It's a lot different from home.” I said
“Where do you live sweetie?” She asked.
“I live in Pennsylvania. My oldest sister lives here so I'm spending the summer with her. I'm hoping I can get one of the auditions that I'm scheduled to do.”
“Oh you're an actress!” She exclaimed
I nodded. “I love it. Being able to become someone else is like living a double life without secrets. And the challenging roles make it that much more exciting.”
“That's great! I know that the kids love performing and acting.” her voice lowering into a whisper “And sometimes more drama then actual drama” She pointed to Rydel and Ross who were helping putting the groceries away.
I couldn't help but laugh.
“So I have a pretty empty cabinet over there believe it or not, and we'll just store your food there so my little pigs don't eat it all.
“Hey!” Ross said.
“Oh Rossy you know I love you but it's true.” She said sarcastically.
Ross rolled his eyes and continued putting the food away.
“Is there anything I can help you with?” I asked.
“No sweetie. Just sit and relax.” She said as she began to help unload more groceries.
I felt really awkward just sitting there while everyone else worked.
“Are you sure. Because I wouldn't mind helping.” I said
Stormie let our a little laugh “Of course I'm sure dear.”
“Hey Jocelyn its only 6 do you wanna go swimming?” Rydel asked
I shrugged. “Why not.”
“Rocky and Riker should be home from the studio soon and Mark is picking Ryland up on his way back from a meeting. I think we should have a BBQ dinner tonight.” Stormie suggested.
“Yes!” Ross cheered.
“Why don't you go get ready. I'll be up in a few.” Rydel said.
I nodded and walked up to Rydel's room. I went over to my bag and dug around for a bathing suit and swim shorts I had recently bought. I went into the bathroom and let my hair fall loose.
'Ew... my hair looks horrible!' I decided to put it in a high ponytail instead. I put on a black halter top bathing suit with black and white high waisted board shorts (To be clear the girl board shorts. Not swim trunks.) I looked at myself in the mirror and observed myself. I looked big. I hated how no matter how hard I tried I couldn't keep abs. I had the traced of a 4 pack but my belly was no where near flat. I sighed and put on my cut up Hollister sweatshirt. I loved how I made it my own. I bought it for $5 at goodwill which was a good price considering it was a Hollister sweatshirt. The fact that it was a shrunken large made it the perfect amount of baggy without looking hideous.
I grabbed my clothes and wrapped them in a ball, unlocked the door, and went back to Rydel's room.
“Hey chika. I'm gonna go get ready and grab the towels. I'll be back in a few.” Rydel said as she got up off the bed and left.
