20. Jocelyn's Birthday Part II: Digging into the Past

(A/N: I dropped it down to 50 reads because I love you guys so much. But I'm not skimping on this chapter ok? 75 reads for an update or 5 comments!)

They had been in the park for about an hour now. Jocelyn stood aside as the boys, Austin and Ally cast as well as Maia were swarmed with fans. Riker made the mistake of posting a picture of all of them saying “Happy Birthday Jocelyn!” in front of the Disney Land sign and the R5 family took acted quickly and came down and finding them.

 Jocelyn was leaning against the fence for one of the rides about 15 feet behind them, doing her best not to get noticed by the fans in fear of certain events repeating themselves from the day before.

“I’m surprised you’re not trying to get an autograph of them as well” Said a voice beside Jocelyn. She was snapped out of her thoughts as she looked up to the man beside her. He was about the same height as Ross, pretty muscular, he had longish brown hair, brown eyes, a lip ring, a stunning smile and some sort of accent. (Beautiful boy in the picture to the side) 

Jocelyn smiled up at him “Well see, that blonde guy in the middle of them” She pointed to Ross “Is my boyfriend.” She told him.

“Oh wow, so why are you hiding out over here then?” He asked. Jocelyn shrugged and looked down at her knotted fingers 

“I try not to get in the fans way because I know how much R5 means to them” She said as she watched the fans fawn over the boys as well as some talking to Laura, Raini and Calum but mostly the band.

“Understandable. Not everybody likes fame as much as certain people like it.” He commented.

Jocelyn furred her brow “Well just so you know those people over there aren’t fame obsessed. They’re doing what they love which happened to come with a large supportive fan base who gets defensive when another girl enters the picture and threatens their chance with the boys which is about two million to one. Literally.” She said, her voice raising slightly in defense

The guy put his hands up in defense “Ok, sorry I didn’t know. I’m just speaking from personal experience.” Jocelyn looked the guy up and down again. He looked slightly familiar but then again she didn’t think she had ever seen him before. “I used to do this Youtube channel with my friends but things got too much to handle so I quit.” Jocelyn nodded as she felt the boys pain. She herself had gotten the slightest taste of fame and to her it felt as if it was too much to handle. She couldn’t imagine having the full thing thrown in her face. 

“I’m sorry” She said screwing her lips to the side “ I didn’t mean to snap at you…I just get defensive about the people I care about. I didn’t mean to take it out on you. I’m Jocelyn by the way.” she gave the boy a polite smile.

“I’m Luke. Nice to meet you.” He smiled at her.

“Are you here with anybody? Since you’re over here criticizing me for being alone the lest I can do is do the same to you” 

Luke laughed and smiled “I’m meeting up with some friends here in a bit. I just happened to have gotten here early”

Jocelyn smiled “Well if you’d like you could always hang out with us until they come?”

“That sounds like a great offer but I can see your boyfriend glaring at me from over there and I don’t think he would appreciate me coming along” Luke said taking a small step away from her but still smiling.

“Oh ok, i’m sure he wouldn’t mind if you met him but I guess you’ve made up your mind” Jocelyn said, screwing her lips to the side.

“No it’s ok. I won’t be alone for much longer. But if you want to hang out some time- just as friends, seeing that you have a boyfriend and I’m not one to steal another mans girl- give me a call.” He said and pulled out his phone indicating that he wanted Jocelyn to put her number in his phone. She smiled and nodded as she put her number in and then gave him her phone in return.
