MOTEL ROOM
Sam lies in an otherwise empty bed, shirtless and trying to sleep. He opens his eyes, sighs, and rolls over. He sits up and sees Jess beside him.
"Hey, baby." Jess Says
Sam Stares At Her
"I missed you." Jess Says
"Jessica. I'm dreaming." Sam Says
"Or you're not. What's the difference? I'm here." Jess Says
"I miss you so much." Sam Says
"I know." Jess Says
She reaches out to take Sam's hand.
"I miss you too. What are you doing, Sam?" Jess Says
"What do you mean?" Sam Says
"Running away. Haven't we been down this road before?" Jess Says
"No. It's different now." Sam Says
"Really?" Jess Says
"Last time I wanted to be normal. This time I know I'm a freak." Sam Says
"Which is all a big ball of semantics. You know that." Jess Says
"No." Sam Says
"Even at Stanford you knew. You knew there was something dark inside of you. Deep down, maybe, but you knew. Maybe that's what got me killed." Jess Says
"No." Sam Says
"I was dead from the moment we said hello." Jess Says
"No." Sam Says
"Don't you get it? You can't run from yourself. Why are you running now?" Jess Says
"Why are you here, Jess?" Sam Asks
"Would you believe I'm actually trying to protect you?" Jess Says
"From what?" Sam Says
"You. Sooner or later the past is going to catch up to you like it always does. You know what happens then?" Jess Says
Sam looks down.
"People die. Baby, the people closest to you die." Jess Says
"Don't worry because I won't make that mistake again." Sam Says
"Same song, different verse. Things are never gonna change with you. Ever." Jess Says
Sam looks down, then back up. Jess is gone.

A car pulls up in front of the motel.

Sam gets out of the shotgun seat.
"Thanks." Sam Says
"You're welcome." Driver Says
Sam goes around to the back of the car and opens the trunk.
TAFT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
Dean closes the trunk of the Impala. He is wearing a suit and tie, in contrast to Sam's casual dress. Dean hides a long knife under the coat and He goes into the hospital.
