Alastor singing is all I see as I peek into the room.
He’s singing….the song I sang when we first really met but it’s longer...
--------------------------------------------------
“ Hey there, Elijah
What's it like in New York city?
I'm a thousand miles away…”
--------------------------------------
I space out as I listen to him sing. I slide down the wall, sitting next to the door. I lean my head onto the wall and close my eyes. His voice was calming. It took my mind off my mom and really, everything.
I almost feel like I'm going to doze off, but the singing stops. I hear footsteps. I slowly open my eyes from my tiredness, and see two legs in front of me. I tilt my head up, my eyes greeted with Alastor’s face looking at me.
“Is my voice so beautiful that you fell asleep?” He said with a wide smirk.
“Ha, don’t flatter yourself. It’s just relaxing.” I whisper the last part.
“Come on.” He puts his hand out to help me up. I gladly take it.
We walk out of school side by side.
“It’s getting colder and colder by the day.” He says out of nowhere.
“Uh, yeah it is isn’t-” I sneezed mid-sentence.
“Bless you.”
“Thanks.” I sniffle.
“Hey you know how I mentioned that you, me and the rest of your friends could go out and eat?”
“Yeah,”
“Would Sunday work?” We stop and look at each other.
“Um, maybe. Hold on.” I take out my phone and check my calendar.
“I’m free, Sasha might have work, and Iru also might have work…” I say.
“Well I guess we’ll just have to see if they can make it.” He softly smiles at me.
We kept walking, staying silent most of the time. The cold November air, biting at my face as I walk. My eyes were watering and stinging.
I let out a yawn as I fell onto my bed. I haven’t slept in days and if I did get sleep it was short lived.
I lay there for a bit close to drifting to sleep, when my phone buzzes.
I groan as I reach over for my phone. I look at my notification bar to see a text from Alastor.
“Hey!” - Alastor
“Hi” - Damian
I don’t bother to text back when I hear my phone buzz again.
I drift off into a peaceful sleep. Finally. Sleep.
I yawn as I wake up to my oh so annoying alarm clock. I just wanted to sleep and forget about everything that's been going on.
I turn over and peek my eyes open to be greeted with darkness. I was confused for a second but remembered that the sun is still rising. I turn into laying on my back with my forearm over my eyes. I glance over to my nightstand after hearing a small buzz come from my phone.
I picked it up to see Alastor had texted me. I was too tired to reply, let alone read it; so I put my phone down and as my last attempt to get extra sleep, I buried myself under my covers and tried to sleep. It was short lived.
“HEY! If I don’t get extra sleep you don’t either!” My sister said after practically busting down my door.
I clenched my covers closer to my body. Which failed. I was ripped from my safe place that was my covers and bed. So yeah moral of the story, I’ll never get my beauty sleep.
I walk into school with a tired face. I probably looked dead. When I walk into my homeroom it’s bustling with noise. I walk over to my desk and take a seat. I lay my head down to attempt, sleep.
I met up with Iru, Sasha, and Alastor at lunch.
“I only could get Saturday off, same with Iru.” Sasha starts.
“Well we can hang out on Saturday then.” Alastor perks up.
So, Saturday it is.
