16: Sports Festival

It has been a week since they've arrived back to Japan. The clone of Tokoyami has already learnt how to become one with the shadows so now Tokoyami could sink into the shadows and slip through small gaps. He also learnt how to detach dark shadow from him so that he could fight as a separate entity. Back when they were at Magnolia, Shota Aizawa announced that they were going to spend the rest of their trip there training for the Sports Festival which was two weeks from then.

It was the day of the sports festival and the boys from class 1-A were changing into their PE uniform. Izuku waited near the exit while talking with both Denki and Kirishima. "Hey man, what are you going to use in the festival."

IG: "I don't know yet."

DK: "I mean. You have quite a lot of quirks. Are they even quirks."

While the two of them were talking, Shoto walked up to Izuku. "Izuku. Do you mind if we talked with you in private?"

IG: "What is this about?"

StT: "We just wanted to apologize"

FT: "I'm coming along."

StT: "No. This doesn't concern you."

FT: "I know what happened. Izuku told me. I'm only going for support."

EK: "If you're going, then I'm coming along as well."

DK: "Same here. Even though we don't know what this is about, we just want to support you."

HiS: "Same here."

Shoto ended up allowing them to come since the festival was going to begin soon and he wasn't going to win the argument. "Fine then but no questions."

The six of them walked to an empty hallway where Izumi, Katsuki, Katsumi and Shoka waited. "Make this quick."

KmB: "All we want to do is say sorry for what we've done.'

SkT: "We thought that if we used our quirks on you then you would decide to quit being a hero."

IG: "I'll think about it."

DK: "Wait, you bullied Izuku when you were younger."

EK: "That's so unmanly."

Shinso and Tokoyami nodded.

StT: "After we thought you were 'dead', we realised that what we did was unforgivable. We did it to help protect you so that you won't end up being killed by villains."

IG: "As I said, I'll think about it."

Iz: "And Izuku, please come back home with us."

IG: "Hmm, no."

KmB: "Wait, why don't you want to go home? Everyone misses you."

"I'm happy with the family that I have. Now I don't mean to be rude, but shouldn't we be heading back before the thing starts?" Izuku walked off with Tokoyami, Shinso, Kirishima and Denki behind.

PM: "Welcome to this year's sport's festival. Now starting off, the class that survived a villain attack, we have class 1-A!"

Class 1-A began to walk out of the tunnel and onto the arena. People above were cheering them on. Everyone cheered for them. Izuku could spot his friends and family. The rest of the classes slowly poured in. "Now would Katsuki Bakugo make it up to the stage with me?"

KkB: "I will be number one."

He walked off the stage as everyone was yelling at him.

PM :"Well then. Let's get started with the events. The first event of the day is... An obstacle race."

"So you will all start at one end of the obstacle and try and be one of the few to make it. Only forty-two will make it to the next round. Racers, make your way to the starting line." Everyone arrived and were ready to run. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

The whole floor froze and everyone could see Izumi fly with her telekinesis, the Bakugos flying ahead with their explosions and the Todoroki twins sliding along the floor. The first to break out was Izuku. Even if he had to rip his feet out from there, he absorbed them right after and it instantly regenerated allowing him to run. Tokoyami was the next as he became a shadow and slid away. Mina melted it with her acid and eventually, everyone else was free.

The first obstacle contained the zero pointer robots from the entrance exam. All of them were frozen as Izuku suspected that the Todoroki twins were responsible for that. "And the next obstacle is the pit." Izuku heard Present Mic announce so he decided to wait a bit until they reached the third and final obstacle. Tokoyami decided to stop.

FT: "Izuku, why are you sitting here?"

IG: "Just wait and see."

Tokoyami nodded and continued to run ahead. Izuku watched him use dark shadow to grab onto the ropes and swing across the platforms. All the students ran by Izuku as they saw him sitting there. He used universal sense and detected the five of them at the minefield so Izuku decided to put his plan into motion. He fell of the edge. "What is this? A student jumped down into the ravine?" As Izuku fell, he slowed time down and sprouted his wings. He flew up and spotted his friends. He flew over towards the minefield and saw his five tormentors stopped at the start. Due to Izuku flying and slowed time ability, it was hard to see him as he flew towards the finish line. He landed and created a body double to take his place and made his way up to Satoru, Itadori, Megumi and Nobara. Then he sped time back to it's original speed. "Now we have the third and final obstacle course and what's this? Izuku Gojo has already made it to the finish?"

MF: "That's expected of him."

YI: "Knew that the kid was going to win."

Su: "I mean it was obvious. Plus, you know that he's currently listening to us?"

They all looked next to them and all saw Izuku seated next to them. "Hey guys. I know I finished the race so I decided to come up here and watch the rest unfold." The group watched as everyone else made it. Izumi and her friends placed between second and sixth. Tokoyami was fourteenth. Ochacco and Iida were both seventeenth and nineteenth and so on. "Time for me to head back down now. See you all later and if I do end up winning, let's go out and celebrate." Izuku turned into a shadow and made his way down. He grabbed his clone and waited for the next game.

"Alright, the next game is calvary battles. People would be in teams of about two to four. There will be one rider and the rest are the carriers. The main goal is to protect your points which the carrier will have. The points are determined from the last game. Forty-second will have five points, the next will have ten and so on to the first who has ten million points." Izuku then felt eyes glare at him but he knew that it would be pointless for anyone to be able to get it. "You have ten minutes to assign your groups."

It was difficult for Izuku to form his groups but he managed to find three. Ochacco Uraraka wanted to join so He allowed her. The next was Tokoyami. He considered Tokoyami to be great for defence. Tokoyami agreed to team up with Izuku. Lastly, Izuku chose Mina as she could go for an offence. The group received their headband and Izuku came up with an idea. "I need someone to make sure that no one sees us."

FT: "Dark shadow."

DS: "Yes?"

FT: "Keep an eye out for anyone that comes."

DS: "Roger."

MA: "So, what's this plan of yours?"

Izuku took his blindfold off to reveal his bright blue eyes. "Take this in because this is probably the last time you'll probably see them." Izuku had both the headband and his blindfold in his hand and used gluttony on them. A few seconds later, they both appeared in his hands. He put his blindfold on and revealed the bandanna to his friends. Apparently, it was the same colour as his blindfold. They knew what Izuku planned and rolled with it. He flipped it around and tied it over his blindfold so that it would be camouflaged. "Time for the real plan." He told his group his real plans.

"Alright everyone. Get into your positions." Ochacco supported the front while Mina and Tokoyami went back. "And go!"

Izuku summoned his wings and flew up. Ochacco, Tokoyami and Mina immediately ran and slowed anyone down that attempted to grab Izuku's headband.
