Chapter 18
"Clark! Clark. Wake up you dam idiot it's time to move we haven't got much time" Clark's eyes wound open slowly, his blank expression spread widely across his face. " how did I .... wait one minute I'm with Diana and next I'm sleeping, what the hell happened ?"
"I took care of Diana", batman gave a long Solom look as if his heart had been pierced at the precise moment. Clark still hazed over with confusion and tiredness grabbed tightly on to Bruce's arm and lunged himself forward. "we meet in the main control room in five minutes" Bruce said in his usual commanding voice before leaving Clark's room. "I'll be there in a few moments where are you going just now?" Bruce stopped very hesitantly and turned and glared momentarily at Clark " I have some business to take care of so I suggest we move quickly, jokers defences are only down for short spans of time and this might be one of our last opportunities to .... " Clark took a slow, hesitant step towards Batman.
"We will be ready for anything, relax" Bruce only smirked slightly and departed the room leaving a very laid back Clark behind. Batman's final words to Alfred seemed simple and emotionless but him mind contemplated on whether to see Diana for one last time.......so he did. Her body lay scattered across his bed untamed. He stood only a moment gently gazing at her lifeless body before removing her scattered raven hair from her face to give his princess one last kiss before leading himself and his allies to death. As he kneeled in closer Diana mouthed opened slightly, her lips parted as she began to whisper small sounds, Bruce becoming curious to hear what she was mumbling leaned in closer and closer.

" Robins... still ....alive"

Bruce's eyes widen "what do you mean? Diana tell me" Bruce confused by the simple statement began to try and awaken Diana with no success until a sudden flicker in her eyes gives him hope, while continuing to try and awaken Diana he hears a small sound coming from the door. " Bruce leave her it wasn't Diana speaking I only used her as a vessel to grab your attention we need to talk now" Bruce quickly swivelled his head around to hear who it was standing at the door to see John towering over him covered in bandages and wounds. "John what do you think you are doing?" John slowly moved closer to batman shutting the door silently behind him. " I need to warn you Bruce as Diana was trying to do, when I was being tortured down in the arkham facilities I heard screaming everyday and night, I felt their pain but I saw it too." John closed his eyes for a second almost reliving the whole nightmare all over again. " I saw him just lying there alive but unconscious, his small hands lying lifelessly from hospital bed as the dragged him away. "dragged who away?" Bruce snapped uneasy at johns reply. "I saw nothing" spit John who stroked Diana's long, scattered hair "but Diana did and that is the reason she did not want you to leave here.... she didn't want you ..... to see what she saw." Bruce slowly scanned Diana as she lay unconscious on the bed, "I knew when Diana was there she would see some horrific things, things that even an 8 year old boy had to endure but I will not fear them and they will not harm anyone I love ". John stood angered at how little he tell Bruce knowing that telling him the truth would result in Diana also finding out who he so desperately tried to protect. " Batman we are not at war we are being hunted like animals, all of us apart from you, Diana and superman. They want unstoppable power, a force that no man, woman or child would dare stand against....feared by everyone like...." Bruce stood and removed his mask slowly revealing his deathly darkened eyes. "Darkside" Bruce spat. "why would he want us three, this doesn't make sense?" John began to tumble over in pain as he tightly grasped his poreless emerald face. "whats wrong john...speak to me John...now". They want the baby... the world as we know it will be gone" Bruce filled with anger grabbed John by the throat, pushing him forcefully to the wall. " what baby...john you are making no sense" he yelled, his fist clenched tightly by his side, but batman's anger only grew as John stood in silence and for a brief moment pity glazed his eyes as a mortal man stood helplessly in front of him unaware of what the remaining members of the justice league where about to face.

"I'm sorry Bruce i....i...umm I must go Mr Queen will need me .... I'm sorry but I think perhaps u should listen to Diana and what she saw after all she ..... " John swiftly left the room. "John wait !!! Bruce exclaimed with no answer. Batman stood again staring at Diana, what did she know he didn't ?
