Chapter 8

Diana slowly turned her head effortlessly to Bruce who stood still towering over her.
" Don't you think you should get some rest?" said Bruce. Diana glanced only for second
"I'm ok honestly Bruce" Bruce knew Diana was lying, her eyes could barely meet his it was something Bruce could easily identify and had grown to love about Diana. Bruce put his hand on her Chin and lifted it to line her eyes with his, she tried to hide her pain but was
unable to, especially to Bruce. Both felt the energy which surrounded them as there arms swung around each other, Diana's lips caressed Bruce's before he moved slowly to her neck finally reaching her ear. "would you,..hmm... at Wayne manor, was it real?" Bruce was whispering and almost speaking in riddles, she had never heard him speak in such a nervous manner. Diana smiled and wrapped her arms around Bruce pulled him as close as he could get there hearts beating faster, finally there lips touched. Bruce in only a few seconds of their lips merging had Diana against the wall, holding onto that long and passionate kiss. Diana finally pulled away.
"Does that answer your question"
Before retreating to the next room closely followed by Bruce.

Both entered the room to find arrow still holding on to Dinah's hand while being consoled by both Clark and John.
"You need rest my friend, please!!. I beg of you rest" john demanded with a stern but sympathetic look upon his face as he knew the pain and anguish felt by arrow as he once had experienced it himself. Olivier still trying to hang in walked to a small bed in the corner in the room and instantly fell asleep.
Clark and John quickly nodded for them all to leave the room as they did swiftly. All four stood in the plain sight of the room. "what should we do with Dinah's body we cannot leave her here times running out? Sooner or later she may start to decompose and we can't let that happen" Whispered Clark quietly to which all justice league member agreed.
But the question was what to do to with Dinah which Bruce quickly intervened about. "We will have to take the body out of here without Oliver's knowledge, you know he wouldn't let her go just the question is who will take her out of here?"

All four stood in fear at the horrifying question as to who would do this deed? who would drag there friend, colleague, sister to her grave. No one looked up and remained staring at the floor. John knew it would have to be a question of drawing straws but was stunned by the proposal by Diana who stood forward hair slightly draped across her face.
"I will bury her far from this city were pain and corruption do not exist.... maybe the countryside....alone."
All three stared open-mouthed at her demand. "No do you know what's out there?" exclaimed Clark, a short pause erupted. "For once I agree with Clark, Diana jokers patrol vehicles are round every bend it's too dangerous. " Diana looked at john to hear his disapproval speech as she had heard from everyone else. Nothing. Only a few words escaped his lips. "Be safe" he moved forward solemnly wrapping his arms around her. Thank you john I will.

"You can't be serious"
Diana without glancing at either Clark or Bruce smoothly walked past both into the next room preparing herself to move the lifeless body without Oliver knowing. Quickly followed by Bruce, Clark and John, Diana began to feel sick and even faint as she looked at the blood stained blanket which tightly wrapped Dinah's body. Clark dismissively folded his arms
" I see their is no way to change your mind Diana but "where will you take her?"
"Just outside the city, there is a small piece of land near a beautiful flowing stream where wild roses and untamed Lilly's grow from under your feet. And just beyond the luscious green grass and bushes are small but branched trees where the harmonious tweets of canaries play on."

Diana smiled a little " remember I took both of you there once, I showed you my own little haven."
Bruce began to nod as did Clark in agreement recalling the memory of the few hours they had to be normal, without saving the day or worry about any major disasters just not being heroes. Bruce was reading the latest of Gotham's stock market in black shorts and black top as he always did like to work and play in black, Clark stood by the lake scanning for wildlife in his red shorts and gleaming white top. Bruce and Clark recalled Diana that day instantly in her white and gold bikini, black, luscious hair draped over the pillow she brought as she lay across the ground reading a novel of true love and torture which always seemed so ironic to both of them. But now those days seemed dark, and nonexistent to them all.

Diana slipped both hand under Dinah's neck and legs as she heaved her up. Diana solemnly left the room as John opened the bunker door still facing the floor. " I'll be back soon I promise just look after Olly please." Diana faces the darkness of the opened door and before the knew it she was gone. Bruce began to question his decision as to letting Diana go alone but never understood why he didn't stop her, was he going soft? whatever it was Bruce was regretting his actions but remained calm and ready for anything.

Once reaching her destination Diana placed Dinah's body in the river holding back the floods of tears which were desperate to escape. She placed one hand on to the head on Dinah before uttering the words " Hera and the gods of Olympus protect Dinah Lance as a woman of mans world, a sister, a great warrior and a mother" before her body was swept away with the stream
" Goodbye my friend"
Diana after wiping the tears from her face took to the sky once more leaving behind the haven she had come to adore.

On arriving into the City Diana knew she may have to travel the last 10 minutes of her journey on foot as the both air and land patrol of jokers thugs became more habitual and were increasing in numbers dramatically. Diana reaching only a few streets from the bunker began to walk through the alleys which were abandoned of every form of life. Not a sound could be heard as the look for desertion could always be misleading. Getting closer to the bunker a sigh of relief parted Diana's lips until the voices of men were heard in the distance and began to get louder. Diana began to breath quicker, the fear Diana felt became overwhelming as if she was discovered by jokers men, theses fearful breaths could be her last!!
