harry smiled disarmingly at the old lady behind the counter, she was round with grey hair and floral cloths, she smelled of strong perfume so he guessed her smell was starting to go.

"How can I help you, dear?"

"my friend Susan and I are supposed to meet her aunt, she came a little earlier than I did"

the woman smiled at him.

"yes yes she has already gone up to see her aunt, go on up dear!"

she used magic to put a badge on Harry's chest and handed him a piece of paper with directions and the room name harry was looking for.

harry didn't run into anyone on the way to the office, he could hear murmuring from inside and assumed Susan was taking advantage of being able to see her aunt, she had sent an owl saying that she needed to speak urgently and that harry would be coming.

(I know that susans aunt died but fanfic gonna fanfic muhahahahahaha here is a tid bit not a lot of people know : Madam Bones, having a seat on the Wizengamot, presided over the disciplinary hearing of Harry Potter. She was fair, unlike Cornelius Fudge, the prosecutor, and was astounded and impressed by Harry's ability to conjure a corporeal Patronus. She voted for the clearing of all of his charges and Harry was allowed to leave. A year after in the second week of July 1996, Amelia was murdered, likely by Lord Voldemort, though she put up a valiant fight.)

with a firm knock on the door, harry was permitted entry to the inquisitor's office,  where Susan was already perched on a sturdy black chair.

"harry, have a seat"

"thank you"

Harry glanced around the room before taking a seat.

"I appreciate you taking time to see me today madam bones"

she inclined her head to the student.

"I shouldn't dance around this too much, madam I have been conversing with Susan, and we have both joined the same extracurricular activity, she has expressed her desire to protect you"

Amilia looked sharply at him, waved her wand casting a privacy charm.

"What extracurricular activity?"

harry looked her dead in the eye.

"We have started a third faction in this war and plan to neutralize both threats while they mess with one another"

Amelia stood.

"out of the question!"

Susan put down her teacup.

"aunt amelia just listen please"

the even and confident voice of Susan made her sigh and sir down again looking hard at harry.

"let's be honest everyone knows Dumbledore and Voldemort are just playing at the moment trying to draw out their "fun" as long as they can, I and many of my people are sick of it, the fear the deaths, the manipulation."

"aunt I have already sworn myself to the cause, but I need to know you are safe"

the woman shook her head.

"in the adult, I need to protect you!"

Susan laughed.

"no aunt amelia that time has passed, I'm no longer a little girl pulling at your robes, it is now my turn to make sure you are safe"

"Susan I can concede that you have grown a lot but, I will always protect you"

Susan walked to her aunt and put her hand on amelia's.

"you are the only family i have left, the best way you can look after me is to stay alive and be there when i need comfort, many help me train but as it stands, the ministry isn't safe for decent people anymore, you had a brush with death already and only made it by a true miracle, i can't go through that again, please trust me that i have grown strong and cunning and that i will do what i have to, to survive but i can't focus on that if I'm so worried about you"

Amelia looked like she had been struck.

Harry ran a hand through his long raven locks.

"madam bones have some faith in Susan, train her yourself if you must but she has chosen her path, would you really try to sway her resolve and smother her because you are afraid?"

there was no sound in the room for a few minutes finally she sighed, seeming to deflate.

"i do not wish to destroy her conviction, it's why i became an aura, a good sense of justice and knowing what's right and getting things done, that's how bones are raised"

she looked defeated.

"what must i do?"

Susan smiled.

"thank you aunt amelia, i need you to be safe in one of our safe houses"

the woman sighed.

"fine however i will be sending the headmaster a form allowing you to floo to visit so i can train you if i cannot help the way i would like then you will have to go through rigorous training so i know u can protect yourself"

Harry put up a hand.

"actually i was thinking that she could stay in our village set up defences and be in charge there while we are away."

"Harry!-"

she was cut off.

"Susan if she is off in some random country who knows what could happen or who could find her, your aunt is an inquisitor, you forget that, I'm hardly going to send her onto the battlefield but he will be safest in our stronghold, i will shell out whatever money on walls and wards and whatever defense that you ask Susan, our village is the one place that should be the safe haven of all of our people, wouldn't it be prudent to not only have her safe but also put her vast knowledge to use not kept in a cage like a delicate bird"

Amelia nodded.

"i agree with harry Susan, i need to be there for you even if i cannot go into battle with you i can provide a safe haven for you to sleep and rest"

it was a long time before Susan responded looking down at her skirt.

"Alright, i understand...I'm just afraid to lose you"

amelia wrapped her arms around Susan.

"i know, i feel the same"

harry closed the door on that scene, the women needed time alone to talk and harry felt a twinge in his chest, seeing the love and devotion of blood tied family it hurt even now, he wished that his parents had just once comforted him before they found out he was the boy who lived.

harry shook that thought away and walked out of the ministry, he didn't need those people he had always been fine without them.

after seeing the exchange Susan had he couldn't help feeling like he was lying to himself.
