One Year After Another

Over the next few days I tried to get into contact with Shelby through my phone and through Marty's but she never replied. I understood why she was ignoring me, I'd be hurt too if she did what I did. I just needed her to see that I loved her and her only.
New Year's Eve was tomorrow and we were set to be at the same party which was hosted at Fatin's house again. I was unsure whether she was going but I do know I was going to see her again because she'd be back to say goodbye to Marty.

I was doing some homework when I get a call from Fatin. I debate about whether to answer but decide that I can't avoid her forever.
"Fatin?"
"Hey..."
"What's up?"
"I heard about you and Shelby"
"It's shit but I'll fix it"
"It's my fault, I shouldn't of done that. I'm so used to sleeping with Leah or sleeping with a stupid giant stuffed bear"
"Fatin chill out it's fine"
"You still coming to the party tomorrow?"
"Yeah, will Shelby be there?"
"I think so? Her family are invited"
"Mr Goodkind is invited? After the last party?"
"There was a whole thing about it. There was a lot of arguing and talking about Andrew's behaviour. My dad probably popped a vein the way I heard him talk to Goodkind"
"So what happened?"
"I don't know I presume that someone did something about Andrew, I haven't seen him around"
"I just hope he doesn't return to fucking school"
"Just don't do anything stupid at the party. We should both apologise to Shelby if she comes. I'll see you tomorrow"
"Yeah okay, Bye"

After that whole phone call, I decided to just try and relax my mind by getting in a bath with a few candles, bubbles and a mud mask on. I closed my eyes soaking up the peace and my phone begans to ring. I look over and see it's Leah.

"Hey Leah?"
"Hey Toni"
"What's up?"
"I just wanted to ask you something about Fatin"
"Go ahead"
"Does she love me?"
"I don't think I can answer that. Fatin can give you the straight answer, I know she does but you should talk it out, you bring the best out of each other and she'll tell you"
"You're right, thanks"
"Anytime"
She hangs up and I'm sat chilling again. I get out 10 minutes later and head to bed. Helsby makes his way to his bed which is finally on his desk rather than the floor. I get into bed after putting on pajamas and turn my laptop on, closing the tabs down from the homework, I stick on Lucifer and eventually fall to sleep.

Marty wakes me up at noon and she's holding a bowl and juice.
"You slept in"
"I could be dead and you'd be stood there with juice and a bowl"
"I'll eat it myself then" she starts to leave the room and I sit up.
"No! Come back!" She sits on my bed handing me the bowl of fruit. "Thank you" she puts the juice on the side and gets comfy next to me.
"What's up?"
"What do you mean?"
"It's rare for you to sit with me in my room"
"Then it's just one of those rare times"
"Marty?"
"I'm just nervous about tonight, Rachel and Nora aren't going to be there and Dot can only distract me from the relationship drama between you, Shelby, Fatin and Leah"
"Marty it'll be alright, it's going to be a new year in just under 12 hours. Fresh start"
"Alright. I'm going to go shower and start to get ready. We leave at 8 okay?"
"Yes sir" Marty leaves my room and I continue to eat the fruit as I watch Helsby stare at the birds outside.

After three hours of contemplating life and watching Netflix, I decide to order a pizza and sit downstairs.
"Marty I ordered pizza"
"Alright!" I hear her shout from her room as I walk down the stairs into the lounge. Neither Mr or Mrs Blackburn were home so I made myself comfy on the couch putting on a movie.

20 minutes into the movie I heard a knock at the door and open it to the pizza guy. I take the pizza into the lounge and Marty comes downstairs with her makeup done and hair half done.
"Ah pizza" as she sits down, she grabs a slice and starts to watch the tv. "I didn't realize you enjoyed chick flicks"
"The tables can turn"

After we finish the pizza, I clean up and head back upstairs to get ready. As I'm choosing an outfit I get a message from Fatin:
'Thank you'
'For?'
'Talking to Leah, I've just made up with her and I literally watched her burn the book on facetime. It was some mean girls shit'
'Good I'm glad'
I put my phone down and look through my closet. I decide on a white shirt and some black pants. I put up my hair and add some mascara. "What do you think Buddy?" I turn around from my desk to Helsby and he's fast asleep. "Wish I could do that all day" I check my phone and its 7:43pm.
