Girls Day Out

I spent the rest of that day doing training drills for basketball in the garden and watching tv with Marty and Aaron. It was around 8pm when it was just me and Marty watching tv, Aaron had gone home and Mrs B was asleep in bed. Marty was eating a snack bar and I was eating a banana.

"Marty?"
"Mm?"
"Do you love Aaron?"
"I think so, I look at you and Shelby in love and think that's what I have with Aaron, then I look at Fatin and Leah and-"
"They're always together, rarely give each other a break and they argue way too much. Don't compare yourself to them, or even me and Shelb. What you feel is up to you"
"I don't know, I feel like I can't give him everything"
"Because of-" she nods and seems upset. I move over to hug her and she slightly smiles.
"I'm scared to talk to him about it Toni"
"I'm sure he'll understand that you've been through a lot. I've seen how Aaron is with you, I don't think you need to worry about telling him or how slow you want to go"
"There's slow and then there's this..."
"Everyone has their own pace, me and Shelby didn't start out with rainbows and sparkles. I know that he'll listen to why you're worried. Right now he's in the dark about it but you can tell him when you're ready"
"Do you think I can do it over a message?"
"Which ever method is more comfortable for you but I think it's better in person. He can comfort you"
"Thanks Toni"
"I just became some strange wise old librarian who's read one too many books about life. I need to tell Fatin that I'm now a legal therapist"
"I think the only book you've ever read is that cheesy pick up line book at the hospital"
"But why was there even one of those at the hospital!" We both laugh and I smile after knowing I've finally cheered her up.

"Can we watch Mean Girls?"
"Sure, where's the remote controller?" I check under the blanket.
"Under the cat" I look next to me and Helsby is sat on the arm of the couch on top of the remote. I pick him up and he gets up to stretch, I grab it and switch over the show over to Mean Girls. "This gives me a whole ton of flashbacks to that night where we had all the girls over"
"That was fun, we need to do it again. My mom is on night shifts this week so it's a perfect opportunity and my dad is in Missouri until Thursday"
"I'll see what they're doing this week"
"Are Fatin and Leah even on speaking terms?"
"They can sit at opposite ends of the room" I laugh and we get comfy.

I don't remember falling asleep but I wake up to Mrs B tapping my arm. "Toni?"
"Huh? Oh. What's up?"
"Is Marty okay?" I look over and Marty's fast asleep.
"She'll be alright"
"I heard to guys talking earlier about Dr.Ted..."
"Yeah I've tried to tell her not to worry and to talk to Aaron about it when she's ready"
"Look at you being all wise. Maybe you should invite all the girls over this week, I'll be working mostly night shifts so I'll be away"
"We said the same thing, thanks Mrs B"
"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow Toni. Sleep well" I watch as she leaves the lounge and hear her leave the house locking the door behind her. I get comfy again and change the movie over to Toy Story.

Both me and Marty wake up the next day to a constant loud knocking on the front door. "Who's that?"
"I don't know..."
"Did you invite Shelby over?"
"No...did you invite Aaron?"
"He wouldn't knock like that"
I get up with Marty following behind me, picking up the keys, I unlock the front door. "Ready?"
"Ready"
I open the door and it's Fatin. "What took you both so long"
"Fucking Jesus Christ, Fatin. You scared us" she invites herself in and walks into the kitchen.
"Why didn't you answer your phones?"
"We were sleeping?" She grabs herself a snack bar and makes her way into the lounge.
"Neither of you heard your phone ring?"
"Fatin why are you here? It's..." I look at the kitchen clock. "8:30am"
"I was bored and Leah isn't picking up my calls"
"What about Dot?"
"Good idea" She takes out her phone and calls Dot.

We only hear one side of the conversation but I don't think Dot was be too happy about being woke up at this time either.
"Dot? - What are you doing? - Yes right now - Great, get dressed - I'm at Marty and Toni's house - Yes, right now - No you can't shower first - Fine by be here at 9 - 9:10 - It's not a negotiable time Dorothy - Bye" she puts the phone down and turns to face us. "Dot will be here at 9:30 so let's clean" she points to the mess we made whilst sleeping on the couch. "And we can have a fun day. Why don't you invited Shelby and Aaron over?"
"Actually, how about we have a girls day since Dot is now coming over"
"Good idea Toni, I'll called Rachel and Nora. You call Shelby. Marty can you persuade Leah?"
