Chapter 6 (When he arrived, 2:14 am)
Troy skated up into the cafes parking lot and began to slow himself down by dragging his foot on the ground along side him, bringing him to a very slow pace over time. He stepped off of the skateboard and grabbed the top of it, pulling it out from underneath him. Troy walked up to the cafe and set his skateboard up against the wall, taking a glance around to see if he could spot her anywhere but he didn't. So he removed his phone from his pocket, preparing to text her, but a hand was placed on his shoulder stopping him from doing so "You got a couple dollars?" A raspy voice behind him whispered into his ear. Troy practically threw his phone into the grass as he jumped, he quickly turned around, pausing when he saw Lyric who smiled innocently and then began to laugh her ass off. Troy eased up at the sight of her and scoffed "Wowww and you say that I'm an asshole for constantly sneaking up on you!" Troy exclaimed in disbelief and bent down to pick up his phone while Lyric continued laughing, hard, as she put her hands in her hoodie pouch, "You are, i'm just funny." Lyric stated as she smiled innocently again, her dimples dipping into her cheeks as she did so. "Uh huh" Troy uttered under his breath and looked at her as he leaned up, their eyes meeting. His smile slowly fading as their gaze stayed intently locked over the course of about ten seconds, Lyrics eyes began searching his as she attempted to swallow through a forming nervous lump in her throat, "I.." Lyric hardly began her sentence but then quickly trailed off, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion towards herself, her smile had disappeared as well. She was lost in his eyes and his gorgeous features that she was for some reason just now noticing, it could've been the red and blue neon colors lighting up the parking lot from the sign, but no, he was just super attractive. He stood there looking like an actual greek god with the lighting framed around his silhouette and his gorgeous and perfect features. She watched his jaw twitch like he hesitated to speak, but he silenced himself with a grunt under his breath, finally able to pull his eyes away from hers to look at a passing car. Lyric watched him for a moment still, she let every ounce of air escape from her lungs because it seemed she had been holding her breath. I was mesmerized by every part of him..and that sound he made, was absolutely fucking ravishing. My eyes traced his perfect jawline and side profile, inhaling a shaky breath when he bit into his appealing bottom lip to keep himself silent. God how i wanted i wanted to be the one biting it, Lyric, oh my god, stop."What are we doing now" Troy asks quietly as he keeps his eyes wandering, sliding his phone into his sweatpants pocket. "Huh?" She hardly hummed and he looked at her and raised an eyebrow, she sealed her lips back together considering her mouth had been hanging open. "Right, doing things..uhm..well I'm climbing up to the roof, it's my favorite place to lounge here. Are you coming with?" Lyric questioned, a smile returning to her face, fake it 'til you make it, Lyric. His eyebrows flexing upwards, along with the muscles in his forearms as he resituated his hands in his pockets which she made sure to watch, an unsure smile appearing on his face. "Sure..if I don't crack my skull open in the process" He murmured and Lyric let out a chuckle. "You'll be fine, you big baby." Lyric uttered as she looked over at his skateboard to distract herself from looking at him and his lower half in those sweatpants, Troy following her gaze to the skateboard and a smirk spreading across his face. "Are you into skater boys? Because if so you're definitely in the right place" Troy was completely joking, trying to act as corny as he possibly could as he smiled cheekily, setting a hand on his hip. Lyric watched his sassy body language and laughed at it in response "Honestly? Skateboarding is a quite attractive skill." She admitted and turned, walking towards the stairs that lead up to the balcony and second floor of the cafe. "Come on, your skull will remain uncracked" Lyric teased playfully while she walked up the stairs, and once Troy realized he was being left behind he ran after her. She climbed up onto the railing and he watched her carefully balance herself on it, when he saw her on the narrow ledge of it he wanted to reach out and set his hand on the back of her leg to help stabilize her but didn't, because that would be quite weird. Lyric took a step back, preparing herself for it, she then sprinted towards the wall and jumped up, latching herself onto the side of the roof. Troys eyes widened, watching her pull herself up. "How the fuck did you not fall?" Troy questioned in disbelief and Lyric let out a sigh, taking a seat on the edge of the roof. "Ballet and gymnastics as a kid, I have great balance. Well, besides when I'm cross faded, terrible coordination." Lyric joked as she dangled her legs off of the edge, easing herself back a little and pressing her palms onto the roof behind her to keep herself propped up. He smiled softly as he gazed up at her, he tried not to stare but oh, what could he do with a woman so beautiful just sitting infront of him. A smile re-appeared on her face as she tilted her head to the side a little, questioning him with just a simple movement of her head. "You coming?" Lyric teased further and Troy smiled a little wider, nodding softly and still ogling her a little bit as he walked up to the railing. He stepped up onto it carefully and grasped the edge of the roof, pulling himself up to the roof which made Lyric chuckle in disbelief "Show off" Lyric muttered under her breath as she got into her backpack, placing the bottle of whiskey that was in it beside her, "It's not my fault that I'm 6'2 and have excellent upper body strength." Troy replied simply as he sat down beside her, flexing his arms through his hoodie briefly when he said 'upper body strength' which made her grin a little, but then she realized what he said, staring at him eyes wide. "You're 6'2?" She asked in shock and he just nodded, eyes on the bright sky full of stars "No wonder I feel so damn short around you." Lyric admitted and laughed it off, following his gaze. When she did Troy looked over at her and studied her, for quite a long moment, motioning to her body with a slight motion of his head while he spoke, "How tall are you?" Troy inquired, Lyric smacking her lips together and sitting in silence for a few seconds as she thought that question through. "Well, the last time I was at the doctors I was...5'7?" Lyric answered unsurely and looked back at him, Troy stifled a laugh as they held eye contact, pressing his lips into a hard line to silence himself so he wouldn't get punched in the throat. Lyrics face hardened, her facial expression threatening with just a slight narrowing of her eyes and a lowering of her eyebrows "What's so funny?" Lyric questioned and blinked, once, Troy shaking his head as he tried to hide his amusement. "Nothing." He brushed her off as he went to go grab the whiskey bottle in-between them, she grabbed it before he could and held it out to the other side of her within one swift movement so he couldn't reach it. His hand fell in between them to catch himself from falling into her and he scoffed in disbelief with a chuckle following, trying to grab the bottle once again. Lyric leaned backwards to put it out of his reach more which made him lean more into her and he lost his hand placement a little, so he resituated his hand, to rest beside her hip. "What is so funny?" She repeated slowly, and lowly. Troy couldn't help but look down at her lips as she spoke to him with that dangerous tone in her voice, blinking once and re-correcting his eyes back up to hers, Lyrics eyes fell down to his lips as well and then they quickly shot back up to meet his, giving him a "Well? I'm waiting." look, his posture deflated a little with a sigh, of defeat. "You're very short compared to me, that's what is so funny" Troy uttered hesitantly and she narrowed her eyes a little more, staring at him in utter silence, which scared yet entertained him at the same time. Lyric finally gave in and let out a single chuckle, offering him the bottle of whiskey which she used to poke him in the chest multiple times throughout her sentence, "Asshole. I'm actually taller than the average female, thank you very much." Lyric said playfully, Troy taking it from her when she was done assaulting him with it "That's not saying much." Troy murmured as he twisted open the cap, taking a huge swig and savoring it for a moment before he offered the bottle back to her. Lyric eyed him for a moment in silence before scoffing, shoving his shoulder a little "You're a dick." She stated and snatched the bottle from him, and when she did one of their fingers brushed against each-other which made her gasp and pull back from him, quickly. "Holy shit your hands are so cold" Lyric said in utter shock, Troy chuckling a little under his breath at her reaction "Yeah, I have been all night" He murmured and she raised an eyebrow at his sentence, confused, so he clarified for her "We don't have any heat right now, and it's winter, they don't mix well." Troy stated and Lyric frowned but didn't say a word in response, instead she set the bottle aside and turned herself towards him. "Come here" She said gently as she patted the roof top, motioning him to turn. Troy swallowed through the lump in his throat, and hesitantly turned towards her, Lyric scooting up to him to where their knees touched. He watched her round up both of his hands carefully and slide her hands over the back of his palms, holding his hands together in hers which her hands only covered a little over half of them but it's the thought that counts. "They're fucking icicles, Troy.." Lyric murmured and leaned forward, blowing a breath of hot air into the space between her thumbs. Troy swallowed, not able to take his eyes off of her even with her hands on his, he loved hearing his actual name roll off of her tongue so beautifully. She blew another breath into the space, slowly, and then leaned back a little and looked up at him "Better?" She gently whispered and he stared at her for a moment before nodding a little, she started to pull back and her hands slid off but his hands immediately felt empty without her warmth, unconsciously shivering once she did which she caught onto quite quickly, pausing and grinning. "You just want me to hold your hands, don't you? Keep you warm?" She whispered under her breath teasingly and leaned a little closer to him with a grin on her face, which became wider when his cheeks flushed and he stared at her, speechless, his lips parting to speak but nothing coming out. "Hmmm..fine, I'll hold your hands" Lyric whispered and placed her hands back over his, rubbing her hands together over his. He hardly smiled back, trying to act like that did nothing to him. I think I just about passed out.
