Chapter 7 (That night, 3:57 am) I'll fight you for that last drink" Lyric murmured under an exhale and looked over at him. They were still on the roof, but now they were lying down on their backs beside each other. "Go ahead..I don't think that I can do it" Troy uttered shamefully and Lyric laughed at him, taking the bottle that sat in between them. "Aww, Poor little lightweight" Lyric teased softly and Troy let out a small groan as he set a hand over his stomach, trying not to puke as he listened to her swiftly down the last drink. "Usually I'm okay when I have a chaser, but just straight? It hurts my stomach." He admitted under his breath as she set the empty bottle aside, looking over at him again and studying his appearance..He had his eyes closed and an uncomfortable look on his face, groaning gently. She took his hand in hers to give him a little bit of comfort and looked up at the sky full of bright twinkling stars, "Poor thing, i could've brought a soda or something for you" Lyric whispered..Troy opened his eyes and stared up at the sky for a few seconds before they hesitantly wandered to their intertwined hands, Lyric unconsciously threading her fingers through his as she kept her eyes up on the stars. Troy looked up at her face, catching himself begin to admire her again without saying a word to her in response, and he let himself do so, i mean..what was the harm in it? She noticed him staring dazily at her out of the corner of her eye and she looked at him, raising one of her eyebrows up out of curiosity "What's up?" Lyric asked softly which snapped him out of it, his eyes widening in the slightest as they moved up to hers for a moment "Nothing, sorry" Troy muttered and cleared his throat gently as he looked away from her, Lyrics eyebrows furrowing together "I'm not going to judge you, Harvin, what's on your mind?" Lyric inquired softly and he hesitated, his eyes roaming the sky for a moment before returning to hers once again. Why the hell not, it's just a little compliment. Troy turned onto his side to face her. "It may just be the alcohol talking which i highly doubt because it is just purely the truth, but you look really pretty tonight, Lyric. So I was watching you, because you're absolutely gorgeous." Troy divulged as his fingertips gently rubbed back and forth over her knuckles, enjoying the company of her hand in his. After his sentence finished it went silent, he was worried he may have made things awkward but then he noticed a small grin tugging at the corner of Lyric mouth. "Are you trying to charm me?" She teased him as she turned onto her side as well, Troy biting his bottom lip while he gave it half of a thought. "Is it working?" He asked gently, a playful grin breaking loose when he said that which earned a chuckle out of Lyric, "It would be if I didn't have a boyfriend" Lyric admitted as a whisper, his grin widening a little as he resituated, closer to her. "Oh yeah?" Troy questioned huskily under his breath and Lyric swallowed, beginning to nod a little as her eyes moved from one eye of his to the other. "Yeah." Lyric whispered back as she brought their hands closer to her, running her fingertips gently over the tattoo spread across his forearm, although she kept her eyes on his. Troys jaw tightened simply at her touch and even though their eyes stayed locked on each others she could see adam's apple move up and down as he swallowed nervously. His eyes then moved down to her lips briefly and he stared at them, contemplating, but he quickly removed himself from the situation to not allow himself to do what he truly wanted to, by making his eyes return to hers and clearing his throat before he spoke up "I don't hear a lot of people with the name Lyric" Troy changed the subject which made her smile a little, knowing that he couldn't handle it, "But I really do like it, it suits you well" Troy uttered the compliment, Lyric nodding as her smile widened a little. "Thank you, it was handpicked" She said softly in response and watched Troys face twist with confusion "Like..you named yourself? How does that work?" Troy asked curiously and Lyric shook her head sternly "Story for another time, it's a very long one" She shut it down immediately, and he smiled a little "I like long stories.." He said softly but simply and she frowned, averting her eyes for a moment as she thought. "I don't want you to think differently of me is all.." Lyric began and looked back at him, Troy raising an eyebrow, seeming a little confused that she could even think that "I wouldn't, ever" Troy admitted, "What you think of me has become very important to me in a very short period of time, and i hate to admit it because i hardly know you but it's true" Lyric whispered and he smiled a little, attempting to stifle it by biting into his bottom lip briefly. "Me too" He murmured under his breath and shortly after felt her begin to unconsciously trace his tattoo leading up his forearm again, his eyes slowly moving down to her fingertips gently caressing his arm, making his stomach twist into a pathetic little knot. His eyes softly shot back up to hers and her eyes were now on her fingers, aware of what they were doing as she traced the lines of them "I'll tell you, if i can work up the courage anyways" Lyric murmured and he shook his head a little, "It's okay, Lyric, don't feel like you have to..i just don't want you to think that you would lose me from telling me a little bit of your story." He attempted to reassure her and her eyes returned to his, making her chuckle a little. "Well it's not exactly just a little backstory, it's..different, and long, and frankly, it was hell." Lyric hardly whispered that last part and he caught it, frowning, moving his arm from her to take her now free hand in his. Troy brought her hand up to his face and pressed a gentle kiss against the back of her palm, and he wasn't sure if that was too far but when he looked up at her, the look in her eyes said differently. It was gentle, and it almost looked like she wanted to cry. "You can always talk to me, Lyric, always. About anything, even if it's the tiniest thing on earth." Troy whispered and she pressed her lips into a hard line, her eyebrows drawing together in awe as she gazed at him fondly. "You're so caring, Harvin" Lyric hardly whispered and he smiled gently, "I just care about you" Troy admitted quietly and she kept silent for a few seconds, hesitating to say something and just staring at him as she did. It seemed like she had maybe given into telling him but as she opened her mouth to speak, her phone began to ring.
